In the following work we will focus on the elaboration and characterization of the search for new hybrid and low weight sandwich materials, using different configurations in the reinforcement stacking. In order to achieve a reduction in weight and facilitate the elaboration, an epoxy resin reinforced with chambira fiber woven with kevlar fiber was used, taking into account the number of layers and positions to be worked, using the vacuum resin infusion method and its impact on the mechanical properties, for the specimens a curing at different temperatures and laser cutting with CO2 was performed. The Box-Behnken design method based on response surfaces was used, which allows the input of three continuous factors with their levels respectively, which are detailed as follows: Fiber Orientation 1 and Orientation 2 between 45, 0 and -45 degrees and curing temperature with 60, 90 and 120 degrees Celsius. At the time of the design, the number of treatments to be carried out was specified and in the mechanical tests of each sample, an analysis of the data was made and organized and validated in order to have their mechanical properties. The tests performed on the specimens yielded several results which helped to determine the most optimal configuration of the layers.

This experimental work analyzes the influence of the application of different loading rates, types of curing and specimen size on the values of cylindrical compressive strength at ages 7, 14 and 28 days. For this purpose, aggregates were acquired from the Salvador Quarry located in the city of Ambato - Aguaján sector and Type GU Cement for subsequent characterization tests according to INEN and ASTM standards, then the dosage was carried out applying the Optimum Density Method for a concrete with a design strength of 210 kilograms over square centimeters. With the final dosage, 63 specimens were prepared to determine their properties in fresh and hardened state depending on the variables to be applied in each one of them. Regarding the results obtained for compressive strength at 28 days, at a speed of 0.475 MPa/s an increase of 7.07 percent was obtained, while for a speed of 0.025 MPa/s there was a decrease of 5.22 percent of the strength obtained at the standard speed. On the other hand, specimens not subjected to a curing process reach 86.15 percent of the compressive strength acquired by the specimens that were cured. Finally, with respect to specimen size, it was determined that 100x200 mm specimens acquired 8.88 percent more strength than 150x300 mm specimens.

The production of sheep wool is one of the natural resources that are not used at present, its cost is relatively low and friendly to the environment, so in the present experimental project a composite material was developed that is based on a polyester resin matrix and reinforcement configuration of sheep wool, in which two types of volumetric fractions were taken 70% matrix - 30% reinforcement and 60% matrix - 40% reinforcement, two types of configurations were also made of reinforcement: discontinuity to the longitudinal axis and discontinuity to the transverse axis. The manufacturing of the specimens was carried out in a compression steel mold. The tensile and bending tests were carried out in the Metalmecánico Carrocero Productive Production Center and the impact test was carried out in the Materials Laboratory of the Faculty of Civil and Mechanical Engineering. By means of tensile, bending and impact tests performed on the specimens and under ASTM D3039-00, ASTM D7264-07 and ASTM D5628-10 standards respectively, the composite material that obtained the best mechanical characteristics was determined, being this group 2 the which is composed of 70% polyester matrix and 30% sheep wool, with a configuration of discontinuity to the transverse axis.
