Item Análisis del desgaste abrasivo en los aceros inoxidables AISI 304, AISI 316 y AISI 420, en un medio acuoso evaluado bajo la norma ASTM G105-20(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2024-02) Barragán Moreta, Cristina Alejandra; Vaca Ortega, Wilson HenryStainless steels are widely used in industry for their corrosion resistance capacity, but abrasive wear is not taken into account in these materials. This lack of consideration can lead to an incomplete view of the performance of these materials in industrial environments. In this research, tests were carried out on AISI 304, AISI 316 and AISI 420 stainless steels, under the ASTM G105-20 standard, to address this problem. For this, tests were carried out on 5 specimens of each material for each disk of Shore A50 and Shore A70 hardness. In these tests, standardized parameters and conditions were applied, such as the rotation speed of the discs, which in this case is 350 rpm, applied load of 222 N, an abrasive mixture of 1.5 kg of silica sand and 0.94 kg of water, each of the specimens were subjected to wear in an aqueous medium for five time intervals of 3 minutes, followed by weighing to determine the amount of material lost in grams. With the results, it can be determined that both abrasive wear and the speed of abrasive wear are lower in AISI 420 stainless steel and higher in AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steels, due to their respective hardness. It was also determined that the speed of abrasive wear with each disc and in each time interval was similarly constant, while the abrasive wear increased gradually.Item Análisis de material de aporte en el proceso de soldadura GTAW aplicado en el acero inoxidable martensítico AISI 420 y su influencia en las propiedades mecánicas(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2018) Ushiña Yagloa, José Rafael; Patín Manobanda, Gustavo DavidThe present research work is based on the GTAW welding process made in AISI 420 martensitic stainless steel joints with ER 308L and ER 312 filler material. Subsequently, samples were obtained to perform destructive impact tests, hardness, guided bending and traction; whose results have been evaluated in this research work with the purpose of determining the influence of the materials of contribution in the mechanical properties of the welded joints. This research project is based on the AWS code D1.6 "Structural Welding Code Stainless Steel" whose code establishes general provisions for carrying out the welding process in stainless steels. The tests were conducted at the Polytechnic School of Chimborazo in the laboratories of the school of mechanics, for its development was counted with the guidance and advice of the technicians of the different laboratories of materials and tests; as well as equipment was used. The data obtained were tabulated and the best contribution material was selected by means of a suitable analysis in order to determine which has a better influence on the properties of the AISI 420 martensitic stainless steel. At the end of the research project, conclusions and recommendations were obtained based on the results obtained in order to contribute to improve the welding procedures in this type of material that can be applied in the industrial field.Item Diseño y construcción de un banco de pruebas para ensayos de inflamabilidad de materiales usados en la construcción de interiores de carrocerías(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2018) Chasi Toapanta, Luis Roberto; Castro Miniguano, Christian ByronThe objective of this project is the design and construction of a test bench for flammability tests of materials used in the construction of bodywork interiors, for the development of the technical project the ISO 3795 standard was used, and other sources of information such as the FMVSS 302 standard, which clearly details the parameters that must be followed for the construction of the test bench. Within the development of the technical project a theoretical framework was developed according to the needs of the subject, detailing relevant topics such as the principles of fire science, materials used in the construction of body interiors, materials used for the construction of the test bench, welding and manufacturing processes for the construction of the equipment. The parameters, requirements and conditions prescribed by ISO 3795 and FMVSS 302, helped to delimit the criteria for the selection of the type of fuel to be used, the selection of the Bunsen burner that will provide the ignition source and the materials to be used in accordance to the service conditions to which the material flammability test bench will be subjected. For the correct use of the test bench it is recommended to read the operation and maintenance manuals before using the equipment, in order to contribute to the duration in excellent condition of the equipment throughout its useful life.Item Estudio del efecto del sistema de mínima cantidad de lubricante (MQL) con aceite vegetal en la vida de las herramientas de corte de metal duro en el proceso de torneado del acero inoxidable AISI 304(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2014-02) Bombón Sandoval, Mario Javier; Vaca Ortega, Wilson HenryEl presente trabajo de investigación se realizó bajo el tema: Análisis de la variación de velocidad de avance en la soldadura del acero inoxidable austenítico AISI 304 mediante el proceso GMAW y su incidencia en la defectología, ya que no se ha encontrado suficientes investigaciones referentes al tema propuesto, pero se cuenta con un trabajo similar, en aceros inoxidables dúplex, el cual sirvió de base para la ejecución de esta tesis. En este trabajo se pasó por diferentes etapas iniciando por la bibliográfica donde se buscaba la teoría que sustente lo que se hizo, en el siguiente paso donde se probó con diferentes velocidades de avance para soldadura, posteriormente se realizó los diferentes ensayos como son, Ensayo de Inspección Visual, Ensayo de Dureza, Ensayo de Líquidos Penetrantes, Ensayo de Radiografía Industrial y Ensayo de Tracción, los cuales son necesarios para comprobar que el cordón de soldadura este bien realizado. Todo esto se lo realizó en los laboratorios de la Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato, excepto el ensayo de Radiografía Industrial. Se obtuvo conclusiones y recomendaciones en función de los resultados obtenidos, que contribuyen a generar proceso al momento de soldar aceros inoxidables la cual puede ser aplicado en el campo industrial.
