Implementación del proceso de conservación de la estructura de la capa de rodadura de la vía Patate – Píllaro en el tramo de la abscisa 11+400 hasta 15+320 de la provincia de Tungurahua

In the present experimental work, a plan for the conservation of the structure of the tread layer of the Patate - Píllaro road is proposed in its 3,920 m of study. A georeferenced survey of the road section under study was carried out, in which an abscissa was considered every 20 m, data were recorded with the GPS satellite receiver, obtaining an amount of 590 points with their respective coordinates, data that allowed the digital model to be made of the track. The vehicular traffic that circulates on the road under study was analyzed, analysis that allowed classifying the road in class II and collector because it receives the traffic of the neighborhood roads. Through the application of the PCI methodology, a section with 17 sampling units was evaluated, whose average value of PCI was 77.82, which corresponds to a very good road classification, which implies maintenance on the road surface. The measurement of the deflections was carried out with the Benkelman beam, for which 20 stations were determined every 200 m along the track, resulting in a type I deflection, which means a good structural behavior of the pavement and the subgrade. 4 openwork calicates were made to perform the tests and determine the type of soil. Edge, gravel and sand type soil has a CBR greater than 30 percent which is used as a subbase, while fine sand and silty soil materials are used as a subgrade.

The present experimental work is based on the implementation of a conservation process on the Quero - Salasaca road in the section of the abscissa 0 + 000 to the abscissa 3 + 600 of the Tungurahua province, since the provincial roads do not count with a conservation model which guarantees the period of useful life for which they were designed. A georeferenced survey was carried out to identify the points that were analyzed during the collection of information and a representation close to reality was obtained. A manual counting station was identified, in which data of at least 10 hours a day for 7 days in a row of the week are registered without it being affected by special events, this information determines the value of the TPDA. The PCI method consists basically of the collection of information of the superficial faults found in the rolling layer visually, for this 14 samples were identified, which represents the total of the Quero - Salasaca road. In addition, a field test was carried out with the help of the Benkelman beam running at every 200 meters and at a distance of 0.60 m from the edge of the road inwards, at each point analyzed values were taken at each 0.25m, 0.50m, 1.00 m, 5.00m and 8.00m from the starting point to identify the total deformation that exists at each point.
