Drinking water is essential for sustainability in urban and rural areas. For this reason, a proposal was developed to optimize the drinking water supply system in the Chantilín parish. During the technical inspection, it was identified that the system did not cover a neighborhood belonging to the parish and at several points in the network the pressures were excessive or there was a shortage due to water theft on certain days, which motivated the need to carry out this technical project and allowed to diagnose the current state of the system components and the level of operation of the network. This project began with preliminary studies where a cadastre of the existing network of the sector was made, later a topographic survey was carried out with a drone that served to trace the proposed network. Additionally, a hydraulic evaluation of the system was carried out with the measurement of pressures with a manual manometer, in order to determine the efficiency of the system, which led to developing a simulation of the existing network using specialized software in static and dynamic conditions, verifying whether the speeds and pressures were adequate. The improvement proposal includes an optimization plan with a 25-year projection, aligned with the design parameters established by Ecuadorian regulations. Subsequently, a reference budget was prepared with a total value of $328,823.85, which will be presented to the members of the Chantilín Potable Water Management Board (JAAPCH), and technical plans were drawn up detailing each aspect of the proposed improvement process.

In the place of study of this project, there are deficiencies in the water supply due to the intermittencies present in the conduction line, and also the distribution network requires a redesign since it has been in operation for several years, soon reaching its useful life. The present project began with a collection of information provided by the users and the managers of the water board, the collection sources were visited and thus to know the conditions of the water consumed by the population, the current conduction line was visited and The state that is found was analyzed in order to propose alternatives and, if necessary, to rectify its path, the alternatives proposed by the author were analyzed through Microsoft Excel software and the one that was in accordance with the values allowed by the regulations was selected. standards CPE INEN 5 Part 9-1 and 9-2. The JAAPZ distribution network was designed with the help of the EPANET software and it was verified that the hydraulic values comply with current regulations. It is proposed to rectify sections of the conduction line and the redesign of the distribution network proposed for a period of 20 years, guaranteeing the supply of the basic service of optimum quality and without interruptions, complying with the pressures, speeds and flows established by the standard current ecuadorian.

This technical project is aimed at solving the problems of functioning and operation of the JAAPNSE conduction network, with this work is intended to ensure a constant water conduction service that improves the quality of life of users. To this purpose, we proceeded to evaluate the existing conduction system by applying a qualitative approach through observation cards that allowed recording the state of the conduction network components, as well as a quantitative approach mainly oriented to simulate the current network through hydraulic modeling software to obtain values of pressures, velocities and contrast them with the current Ecuadorian regulations; the evaluation allowed identifying the real operating conditions of the system. With this, the conduction network was redesigned based on the current operating problems, as well as a new design period, considering the parameters and recommendations established in the standards CPE INEN 5 PARTE 9-1:1992, CPE INEN 5 PARTE 9-2:1997 and the NORMAS DE DISEÑO DE SISTEMAS DE AGUA POTABLE – EMAAP-Q. As a result, a technical proposal was elaborated consisting of plans, calculation memory, reference budget, price analysis and technical specifications, these documents guarantee the correct construction process and functionality of the system that would benefit a total of 3646 people, with a horizon to the year 2052.
