Item Diseño y construcción de una cortadora de cilindros de hormigón para el laboratorio de la Carrera de Ingeniería Civil de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica., 2025-02) Jacome Guerrero, José Joaquin; Peña Jordán, Francisco JavierThis technical project deals with the design and construction of a concrete cylinder cutting machine for the laboratory of the Civil Engineering Department of the Technical University of Ambato. This project was carried out taking into account the lack of a machine that is static in the first instance because cutting with manual machines presents a high risk of accidents. This equipment is designed as static in order to reduce accidents associated with the use of manual tools and to improve cutting accuracy, a crucial factor for quality testing of concrete specimens. The development of this project was based on previous research, ergonomic analysis, technical standards as well as ASTM C39 for design and functionality verification, among these are main features such as perpendicularity and flatness, highlighting the use of diamond disc of special diameter for cutting cores of 16 cm, 3Hp low speed electric motor and a robust structure of ASTM A36 steel with an anticorrosive coating, prioritizing the ergonomic design of the table ensuring user comfort at the time of use. It included the selection of materials, CAD software assisted design and performance simulations in terms of stresses and behaviors of critical elements, as well as welding joints to ensure a better result at the time of construction, functionality and efficiency improving the quality of cutting and optimization in the time of this, minimizing the risk of students.Item Diseño y construcción de una máquina para desarrollar la musculatura del hombro(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2024-01) Núñez Tipanguano, Andrés David; Valencia Poaquiza, Eduardo José; San Antonio Serrano, Thalía DaniellaThe work carried out seeks to satisfy the creation of a machine in the field of physical conditioning, which adapts to the conditions of the working environment, since, in the market of foreign gym machines, the anthropometric differences do not adjust adequately to the body dimensions of our country, which prevents users from finding the correct position for the development of the exercises. Within the framework of this project, exhaustive bibliographic research of patents related to similar machines was carried out. This research allowed us to select the most relevant elements as a starting point for the design. In addition, anthropometric data was collected from the users of the gym in order to make an optimal ergonomic design for the machine. Once all the necessary information had been collected, the design and simulation of the machine was carried out. Analytical calculations were carried out to verify the reliability and safety of the proposed design. The result of the project culminated in a very robust machine, designed to fit the anthropometric dimensions of the people in the gymnasium of the Technical University of Ambato. This adaptability guarantees an optimized user experience, allowing a safe and reliable workout for those who use it. The combination of a solid construction and an ergonomic design provides a feeling of safety and confidence when using it, so that after performing the corresponding tests, favorable results based on recommendations are obtained, which translates into a highly functional and suitable equipment for the gymnasium of the Technical University of Ambato.Item Diseño y construcción de un andador plegable con asiento, de cuatro ruedas con sistema de frenado para el desplazamiento autónomo de personas con problemas de movilidad reducida(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2023-09) Jiménez Pilozo, Gabriel Iván; Aldas Bolaños, Juan Carlos; Espín Lagos, Segundo ManuelIn Ecuador people with reduced mobility problems according to the INEC are found in the older adult population with a percentage of 45 percent which leads to seeking alternatives for a decent life, the objective of the project lies in the autonomy that people require to move from one place to another, through the proposal of a folding walker with a seat, four wheels with a braking system, to avoid possible accidents, providing security to the user. For the development of the project, a quantitative approach methodology was used to evaluate the large number of numerical values, which are necessary for the design of the mechanism, which allowed the selection of the appropriate material for its construction, it is also of an exploratory nature since models of walkers were sought to determine the dimensions from an established model allowing to identify the degree of resistance and its operation, an anthropometric analysis was also carried out to establish the regulation measures for the user, such as the width of the hips to establish the folding width of the seat of the walker. In addition, the walker complies with the parameters and the materials duly selected, functional tests were carried out on 5 people who were satisfied and benefited from the product since they were able to move from one place to another safely, according to the results their well-being improved, finally it turned out that it is easy to handle for most users and it does not take up much space so it can be stored anywhere.
