Optimización de la red de distribución de agua potable de la parroquia Chantilín, cantón Saquisilí, provincia de Cotopaxi.

Drinking water is essential for sustainability in urban and rural areas. For this reason, a proposal was developed to optimize the drinking water supply system in the Chantilín parish. During the technical inspection, it was identified that the system did not cover a neighborhood belonging to the parish and at several points in the network the pressures were excessive or there was a shortage due to water theft on certain days, which motivated the need to carry out this technical project and allowed to diagnose the current state of the system components and the level of operation of the network. This project began with preliminary studies where a cadastre of the existing network of the sector was made, later a topographic survey was carried out with a drone that served to trace the proposed network. Additionally, a hydraulic evaluation of the system was carried out with the measurement of pressures with a manual manometer, in order to determine the efficiency of the system, which led to developing a simulation of the existing network using specialized software in static and dynamic conditions, verifying whether the speeds and pressures were adequate. The improvement proposal includes an optimization plan with a 25-year projection, aligned with the design parameters established by Ecuadorian regulations. Subsequently, a reference budget was prepared with a total value of $328,823.85, which will be presented to the members of the Chantilín Potable Water Management Board (JAAPCH), and technical plans were drawn up detailing each aspect of the proposed improvement process.
