Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2022-01) Pilla Ortega, Lenin Andrés; Aldáz Sánchez, Milton RodrigoThe present experimental work aims to determine the correlation between the CBR and the index and mechanical properties in granular soils of Los Andes and El Sucre parishes of Patate canton, Tungurahua province, through in situ and laboratory tests, to This was done by taking 12 soil samples, through test pits regulated according to AASHTO T 87-70, located in the different main roads of the parishes under study. Field and laboratory tests were carried out to determine the characteristics of each type of soil extracted, once the tests are completed, the results are tabulated and interpreted, reaching relevant correlations between the index and mechanical properties of the soils under study, with determination coefficients ere (R) squared acceptable and with a good degree of reliability. Finally, with the result obtained through the correlations proposed in the present experimental work, it is intended to help optimize the time on site, contribute to the development of the database regarding correlation studies between CBR and index and mechanical properties of granular soils at Parish, Cantonal and Provincial level, as well as to guide in the preliminary design of flexible pavements in the parishes under study
