In this project the intention is to provide technical information about the influence of use industrial talc as a partial replacement of fine aggregate in concrete mixtures, by the preparation and testing of test pieces, using materials from our area and Holcim cement. With materials previously selected and analyzed, test mixtures were prepared by adding and varying the amount of industrial talc, guided by the procedure applied by the current NTE INEN standards. For the dosage of calculated 210Kg / cm², 2 specimens were tested, the same ones that were tested at 7 days of age. From the analysis of these results and the respective readjustments, the design of mixtures with replacement of industrial talc by fine aggregate and the heat treatment tests (temperature rise), compression test at 28 days of age. From these values, the mixture was selected with the highest percentage of industrial talc, it should be clarified that this experimental work was oriented to obtain the best residual resistance of the concrete exposed to a thermal shock (abrupt change in temperature). The dosage that gave the best results to the simple compression after the thermal shock is the one that contains 20% of industrial talc as partial replacement of the fine aggregate. After the heat shock test at 28 days of age a residual resistance of 104.11 Kg / cm², was obtained at a temperature of 500 ° C.
