Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2017) Guananga Pujos, Mauricio Alejandro; López López, Germánico AdánThe present technical project is focused on the design and construction of a low power photovoltaic system that allows to supply electricity to a low-income housing located in the Rio Blanco sector, Ambato city, the search for new alternatives through the use of clean energies, Profitable in the long term and the interest in improving the quality of life of isolated communities allowed to implement the project. With the help of a solar-wind survey tower implemented by the project “VIABILITY OF THE ENERGY AND SOCIOECONOMIC POTENTIAL OF RENEWABLE ENERGIES " owned by the University Technical of Ambato, the energy potential of the sector with measured values in real time was determined, calculated the real global irradiation available in the study area, through questionnaires it was possible to know the electric demand of the inhabitants residing in the sector, with this information served to know the parameters of design, selection of materials and equipment needed to form the system. Finally, a control board was installed to allow the photovoltaic system to be integrated with a low-power wind generator installed in place to improve the power supply. Two controllers were used, the first regulates the energy extracted from the energy sources and the second regulates the consumption of the loads, the purpose of these equipments is to control the overcharge and discharge of the batteries in order to increase their useful life.
