Mg.The majority of the world population makes use of herbal medicine as a remedy for multiple pathologies either because of cultural tradition or because there are no other therapeutic options based on it, this research project was developed with the objective of analyze the use of plants medicinal products as analgesic-anti-inflammatory effect in the Palora Canton. For this, a qualitative-quantitative, documentary, descriptive and transversal temporality methodology was used that involved 322 people from the Palora canton. of the communities of: Chinimpe, Panquisha, San Luis, Shiram, Las Palmas. As data collection techniques, the survey was used, which was applied to know the predilection of both the conventional and alternative treatment that residents have to certain pathologies and the reasons for their consumption. Through the study it was possible to conclude that the Palora canton has limited access to health services of first level so that conventional treatments are little used in the community and taking into account that the vegetation is abundant and biodiverse it is common for its inhabitants to choose to use mainly medicinal plants with analgesic and anti-inflammatory effects for multiple pathologies because this type of medicine has been shown to be effective in restoring and caring for health.Item “Uso de plantas medicinales en mujeres gestantes y lactantes en el centro de salud materno infantil simón bolívar n°2 de la ciudad de Ambato”(Enfermería, 2018-10-01) Acosta Molina, Dayana Isabel; Valero Cedeño, Nereida Josefina, Dra.The present investigation is of descriptive type, prospective and transversal, which allowed the study of herbal medicine and its use in pregnant and lactating women, in order to determine the relationship between medicinal plants and their beliefs and traditions. The study was carried out in the Simón Bolívar Maternal and Child Health Center No. 2, in the area of outpatient consultation, emergency, delivery room and in the vaccination room in the period April-July 2018, with an assessment instrument that included 10 questions in the header to determine the sociodemographic characteristics, followed by 53 items with the most used plants and their frequency and 30 items of possible uses, the survey was conducted to 238 women (168 pregnant women and 70 infants). The results showed that 77% of the population has used medicinal plants for different causes, being the most common in pregnant women to eliminate or diminish the characteristic symptoms of the first trimester of pregnancy and to accelerate the labor of childbirth; Instead, the infants use them to heal the wounds produced by childbirth and for a greater production of breast milk: In the same way, the information obtained about the use of medicinal plants in pregnant women and infants in said population was transmitted mainly by the mother and grandmotherItem “Uso de plantas medicinales como tranquilizante en la parroquia marcos espinel del cantón Santiago de Pillaro.”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Enfermería, 2018-04-01) Lara Ramírez, Mercedes Fernanda; Velasco Acurio, Evelin Fernanda Lcda. Mg.Since ancient times, man has used medicinal plants to cure their diseases, hence with the passage of time has been created a knowledge of plant remedies that have formed the basis of modern medicine. Therefore, the present investigation had the objective of characterizing the use of medicinal plants with tranquilizing effect in the Parish of Marcos Espinel of the Santiago de Pillaro Canton. For the development of the project is carried out through a study with quantitative, observational and descriptive approach that included 234 people from the Parish Marcos Espinel of Santiago de Pillaro Canton to whom a survey was applied to know the type of medicinal plants that are most used as a tranquilizing effect. The investigation allowed to conclude that the plants most used for their tranquilizing effects are: lemon balm with 47%, valerian 13%, chamomile 13% and cedron 8%, the most frequent administration mode is infusion with 92.3% and that in the Marcos Espinel Parish 80% of inhabitants recognize that medicinal plants have an effective tranquilizing effect for the relief or reduction of anxiety, despair, fright or insomnia.Item “Preferencia del tratamiento convencional frente al tratamiento con plantas medicinales en los adultos mayores en la provincia Cotopaxi, cantón Pujilí, barrio San Juan”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Enfermería, 2018-04-01) Tullmo Tucumbi, Norma Marlene; Acosta Núñez, Jeannette Mercedes Lic.The present investigation had like general objective: To analyze the preferences of the conventional treatment in front of the treatment with medicinal plants that the older adults have in the Cotopaxi Province, Canton Pujilí, Barrio San Juan. The use of medicinal plants has become a relevant issue worldwide because of this; that the project is based on descriptive, quantitative, field and bibliographical research. Same that we worked with a universe of 114 older adults, the instrument applied to data collection was the survey whose form is made up of 22 closed questions. The analysis of obtained data was processed through the Microsoft Excel program in order to represent them in percentages and in simple tables for their respective analysis and interpretation. The study concluded that there is a preference in the treatment with medicinal plants in 74.9% to treat their conditions in acute problems due to its easy accessibility when acquiring medicinal plants since nature provides, in addition to being directly linked with the knowledge ancestral and the use of medicinal plants, with a quick cure and even has no side effects in the body. However, older adults use conventional medicine to treat chronic conditions in 25.1%. This treatment exerts its immediate action when the drug comes into contact with the organism in such a way that the person feels a great improvement. Mg.The present research project focuses in the “Use of medicinal plants as calming in the Parish Salasaca”. In order for this research to be carried out in a feasible manner, data collection was carried out by applying a survey to 246 inhabitants over 20 years of age in the community. The objective is to characterize the use of medicinal plants as a tranquilizing effect in the inhabitants of Parish Salasaca. The methodology that was used is quantitative because numerical values were granted; Observational allows collecting data through observation from September 2017 to January 2018, descriptive, retrospective and cross-sectional so it was possible to analyze the most outstanding characteristics of medicinal plants and the effect that its use in the community produces in a period of 5 months. Results We managed to identify the types of medicinal plants with tranquilizing effects used in Salasaca which are: valerian 25% and passionflower 15%, mode of use is infusion 59%, followed by bath 35%, frequency of administration is only once with 51% and the effect is to relieve or reduce nerves and insomnia with 76%. Conclusion. The use of medicinal plants with tranquilizing properties was determined: valerian, passionflower, linden, chamomile, guanto, hops, boldo, poppy, rue, cinnamon, borage, fig leaf, willow, carnation flower, ginseg, lettuce leaf, santa maría and plantain; which are used considerably by the population due to its tranquilizing effects in cases of depression, anxiety and insomnia .Item “Preferencia del tratamiento convencional frente al tratamiento con plantas medicinales en adultos mayores de la comunidad de Angamarquillo del cantón Ambato”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Enfermería, 2018-04-01) Toasa Aldas, Andrea Estefania; Analuisa Jiménez, Eulalia Isabel Lic. Mg.Investigate about the choice of older adults in the Community of Angamarquillo when choosing between a conventional treatment versus treatment with medicinal plants, with the objective of knowing what their preference is and the reasons why they choose a certain treatment. To get to know the preferences of the elderly about the mentioned treatments, a questionnaire was carried out, which consists of 22 questions, being applied to 110 elderly people living in the Community of Angamarquillo. When concluding with the survey made to the elderly, it is determined that approximately 50% of the population chooses treatment with medicinal plants either for economic reasons, beliefs, and even for ease obtaining positive results for them especially in acute diseases, while that the rest is accepted by conventional medicine especially for chronic diseases due to not being satisfied with the results of treatment with plants
