Item Epidemiología y nuevas dianas moleculares en el cáncer de mama(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Laboratorio Clínico, 2023-03-08) González Asqui, Anthony Fernando; Pacha Jara, Ana GabrielaBreast cancer is the leading cause of cancer morbidity and mortality in women worldwide. Ecuador also does not escape this health problem where deaths from breast cancer exceed other neoplasms in women. It is distributed throughout the country, although Quito is the city with the highest incidence levels and its mortality has not decreased in the last 40 years, despite advances in diagnosis and treatment. Objective: To evaluate the best available scientific evidence about epidemiology and new molecular targets in breast cancer for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Methods: A meta-analysis was carried out with a systematic review of the literature using the PRISMA methodology, on the new molecular targets for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes in Breast Cancer by searching for articles in the wos, Scopus, PubMed, ProQuest, Embase, Redalyc, Ovid, Medline, DynaMed and ClinicalKey databases during the period 2017-2022. Results: he systematic review provided a total of 38,542 records, of which 100 were eligible; of these, 60 did not provide new data, including 40 scientific articles. Conclusion: Breast cancer is a relevant cause of morbidity and mortality and disability in women worldwide, the detection of new molecular targets for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes opens new possibilities for the control and / or cure of this malignancy.Item Estrategia didáctica para la integración curricular básico-clínica (inmunología- genética ginecología) por competencias en la promoción de salud y prevención del cáncer ginecológico(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Centro de Posgrados, 2022-12-01) Alarcón Segovia, Israel Alberto Md.; Leiva Suero, Lizette PhD.Cancer in women is one of the most frequent pathologies worldwide, in South America and especially in Ecuador, according to reports from the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador (MSP), National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC), Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) and World Health Organization (WHO), the three most frequent pathologies that cause greater morbidity and mortality in women's health are breast, endometrial and ovarian cancer, that is why this development project carried out an investigation in medical students of the 8th semester of the Medicine career, to know what the theoretical-practical knowledge is in terms of diagnosis, promotion, secondary prevention and treatment of the present pathologies with the objective that it can be encouraged during the process of medical training to make a timely diagnosis, reduce complications and female mortality in Ecuador, improving the social, economic burden and the well-being of the health of the Ecuadorian population. In addition, a new, innovative, didactic strategy is proposed based on an integrating workshop that promotes and improves the study of gynecological cancer through the study of clinical cases.
