Item Relación triglicéridos/colesterol HDL: el papel del laboratorio como indicador de insulinorresistencia(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Laboratorio Clínico, 2024-03-05) Solís Salinas, Kevin Alexis; Galárraga Pérez, Edison ArturoIntroduction. Insulin resistance or insulin resistance (IR) is defined by the reduction in the processes of insulin uptake, to stimulate the use of glucose in different tissues and to eliminate the production and output of hepatic glucose. On the other hand, currently there are different standard methods to evaluate IR, but these types of methods are highly expensive and their processing requires time. Objective. The objective of the literature review was to analyze the triglyceride/HDL cholesterol ratio and the role of the laboratory as an indicator of insulin resistance. Methods. To carry out the bibliographic review article, a documentary exploration method was used through a search for information in databases of journals such as Google Scholar, Pubmed, Scopus, Elsevier, SciELO and Medline. Results. The articles analyzed provide relevant information on the TG/HDL-C ratio and the importance of the laboratory as an indicator to predict and evaluate insulin resistance. Relevant information was also found on dyslipidemias and the different methods used for evaluation of the IR. Conclusion. The triglycerides/HDL-C ratio is of utmost importance in the early diagnosis of insulin resistance, since in the studies reviewed a high value of this ratio is consistent with IR.Item Correlación de colesterol y triglicéridos con la glucosa basal en pacientes diabéticos que acuden al Laboratorio Clínico Macrolab, cantón Píllaro(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Laboratorio Clínico, 2024-03-04) Saquinga Alajo, Tatiana Ibeth; Galárraga Pérez, Edison ArturoThe present research work sought to find the correlation between cholesterol levels and triglyceride levels with basal glucose levels in diabetic patients who were treated at the MACROLAB Clinical Laboratory, Cantón Píllaro, during the period January - October 2023. It was a retrospective study, where a systematic review of 50 clinical records of patients with diabetes was carried out. For data collection, a spreadsheet was created in the Excel 2016 program. Once the data was organized, they were transferred to the IBM-SPSS v.29 program to carry out the statistical analysis. The results obtained showed that 62% were female, obtaining high values in glucose, cholesterol and triglycerides, and it was also known that the age of highest prevalence was 71 to 80 years. The correlation between the variables was analyzed using the Chi square test, Kendall's Tau_b and Spearman's Rho test. This research project is of great importance for patients affected with diabetes which will help to delve deeper into the treatment, care and compliance with an established diet, as well as medical check-ups and laboratory tests, in order to avoid cardiovascular diseases.Item Importancia en la determinación de niveles séricos de ácido úrico, colesterol y triglicéridos en mujeres gestantes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Laboratorio Clínico, 2024-03-04) Guadalupe Carrasco, Ana Lizbeth; Ramos Ramírez, Martha CeciliaThe fundamental importance of the analytes lies in their role as primary biomarkers to identify possible conditions that may arise during the gestation process. Objective: To analytes the importance of determining uric acid, cholesterol and triglycerides in pregnant women. Methodology: The article was a literature review that focused on the synthesis and analysis of scientific articles related to the topic in question. The PRISMA method was used to search for information, which consisted of an exhaustive and systematic search for relevant data using appropriate search terms and strategies. Results: Thirteen articles were screened and selected for analysis, of which six were excluded because they focused on pregnant women, but with different analytes. From the standards, 7 articles were identified that met the methodology and were included in the article development analysis. Conclusions: The research evidenced that the evaluation of uric acid, cholesterol and triglyceride levels are a first source in preclinical diagnosis, however, among the most common pathologies such as preeclampsia there are approximately 66 predictive parameters being this an important part of prenatal care to promote a healthy pregnancy.Item Relación triglicéridos/colesterol HDL: el papel del laboratorio como indicador de insulinorresistencia(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Laboratorio Clínico, 2024-03-01) Solís Salinas, Kevin Alexis; Galárraga Pérez, Edison ArturoIntroduction. To achieve this, we worked with a descriptive methodology and also with a correlational research, with which we were able to determine the relationship between one variable and the other. The population consisted of 107 patients who came for Glucose, Cholesterol, HDL, LDL and Triglycerides tests at the SmartLab Laboratory in the San Carlos parish. The results obtained showed that most of the patients were women with 64%, most of whom presented alterations in glucose, and the prevalence age was from 55 to 75 years old, most of whom presented alterations in the lipid profile. This research project was of great importance because it provided a great contribution to the field of health, generating more knowledge about the problems that can occur in patients who do not control their lipid profile by means of the correct basal glucose tests.
