Item “Determinación de los niveles séricos de la alfa-fetoproteína en pacientes alcohólicos y su relación con la cirrosis hepática.”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Laboratorio, 2017-10-01) Urrutia Sánchez, Lizbeth Carolina; Tinajero Vásconez, María Fernanda Bqf.The present research project had to perform a biochemical analysis to determine the serum concentration of the alpha-fetoprotein tumor marker to alcoholic patients who are hospitalized in the Centro de Recuperación Génesis de la Ciudad de Ambato and relate it to liver cirrhosis for its execution a series of activities were carried out, including a talk to patients explaining their participation in the study, and the use of surveys to determine the risk factors related to alcoholism. Through the application of the survey it was identified that 75% of all patients have a predetermining factor of alcoholism in family history In this study, a quantitative approach was used because the serum values of the alpha-fetoprotein tumor marker were determined in the alcoholic patients if the values were within the reference values or not, and in turn marked a qualitative approach since it indicated if there is relation to liver cirrhosis or not. I worked with 40 male patients older than 18 who met the inclusion criteria. Finally, in the investigation, patients were found to have elevated levels of the tumor marker alpha-fetoprotein, the higher the time of alcohol consumption, with levels greater than 8.5 ng/dL in 10% of the population, indicating that they consumed alcohol in a time greater than 16 years.Item Temor a la muerte y espiritualidad en el grupo alcohólicos anónimos 24 horas Sede Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud-Carrera Psicología Clínica, 2016-09-01) Cobo Poveda, María Cristina; López Castro, Walter Javier Ps.
