    “Programa de ejercicios terapéuticos acompañados de musicoterapia para mejorar la calidad de la marcha en adultos mayores en el Cantón Cevallos”

    In older adults the aging process modifies the center of gravity, reflexes, balance, flexibility. These conditions decrease the quality of gait and determine a potential risk of falls in the elderly. This research aims to improve the quality of walking in older adults through a program of therapeutic exercises accompanied by music therapy. This research is of quantitative study, 30 participants attended during 12 weeks of intervention. The evaluation was performed with physiotherapeutic tests Mini Best Test and UP & GO, both were applied at the beginning of the sessions. The last evaluation was made after the last session of the exercise program. An intervention program with exercises in both sitting and standing was designed according to the physical-functional capacity of the population with daily sessions of 45 minutes 3 to 4 times per week. After the application of the protocol of therapeutic exercises accompanied by music therapy and when making the final evaluations it is concluded that positive results were obtained in the quality of walking in aspects such as coordination, speed and breadth of passage in relation to the initial evaluation

    “Efectividad de la intervención fisioterapéutica en la capacidad pulmonar y patrones respiratorios en los adultos mayores de la parroquia Santa Rosa-Apatug”

    The main objective of this research was to determine the effects of the physiotherapeutic intervention on pulmonary capacity and respiratory patterns in the elderly of Santa Rosa-Apatug parish. An intervention plan was used in 25 older adults. With an average age of 75.44 years. Of which 16 were women. The treatment was based on Baduanjin exercises and postural re-education. It lasted 10 sessions, 1 session per week, with 30 minutes duration. Lung capacity and respiratory patterns were evaluated with spirometry. It was applied before and after the intervention. Saturation, blood pressure, and heart rate were also assessed before and after each session. Through a doctor. The risk factors to which the population was exposed were measured. With the application of a simple questionnaire. No statistically significant changes were recorded in terms of lung capacity, saturation, blood pressure, systolic and diastolic heart rates. Because the value of P was not less than 0.05. On the other hand, clinical changes were obtained in terms of respiratory patterns. Since in the initial evaluation the total of the participants had abnormal respiratory patterns. And in the final evaluation 72% obtained a normal respiratory pattern. It is also concluded that the sample was subject to risk factors throughout the investigation such as altitude, exposure to biomass, smoking, use of fertilizers, and a genetic predisposition.

    “Preferencia del tratamiento convencional frente al tratamiento con plantas medicinales en los adultos mayores en la provincia Cotopaxi, cantón Pujilí, barrio San Juan”

    The present investigation had like general objective: To analyze the preferences of the conventional treatment in front of the treatment with medicinal plants that the older adults have in the Cotopaxi Province, Canton Pujilí, Barrio San Juan. The use of medicinal plants has become a relevant issue worldwide because of this; that the project is based on descriptive, quantitative, field and bibliographical research. Same that we worked with a universe of 114 older adults, the instrument applied to data collection was the survey whose form is made up of 22 closed questions. The analysis of obtained data was processed through the Microsoft Excel program in order to represent them in percentages and in simple tables for their respective analysis and interpretation. The study concluded that there is a preference in the treatment with medicinal plants in 74.9% to treat their conditions in acute problems due to its easy accessibility when acquiring medicinal plants since nature provides, in addition to being directly linked with the knowledge ancestral and the use of medicinal plants, with a quick cure and even has no side effects in the body. However, older adults use conventional medicine to treat chronic conditions in 25.1%. This treatment exerts its immediate action when the drug comes into contact with the organism in such a way that the person feels a great improvement. It is recommended that more research be done to determine the multiple benefits of medicinal plants in order to strengthen the knowledge of the population

    “Evaluación de la intervención fisioterapéutica en adultos mayores residentes de la casa de reposo “Sagrado corazón de jesús” que presentan artrosis de rodilla”

    The research is carried out in an analytical context which has as main objective to evaluate the physiotherapeutic intervention in elderly residents of the "Sacred Heart of Jesus" nursing home who present with knee osteoarthritis, due to the fact that older adults lose their independence When performing the different activities of daily living since this pathology is degenerative and is associated with the age of the people, for which a bibliographic review of the clinical histories of the patients who have the pathology in the physiotherapy department within of asylum. This research is of an observational and descriptive type, since it compiles data of clinical histories with the diagnosis of the pathology. Open interviews can be made to the physiotherapeutic personnel of Home Sacred Heart of Jesus, as well as the group of older adults in which Is going to carry out the observation finding 31 elderly adults with knee osteoarthritis of 75 respondents.

    “Efectividad del programa de actividad física en el adulto mayor independiente del club diabético perteneciente al Cantón Patate”

    The objective of this research is to determine the effectiveness of a program of physical activity performed by the professionals of the Patate Health Center, towards the elderly adults of the Diabetic Club. To verify their benefit, an observation chart was used.Tinetti modified, with two parameters of evaluation of balance and gait, in the same way was also obtained the body mas index of each older adult. A statistical analysis of the data was performed to dermine if there is a significant difference between the valvues of balance-gait and body mass index before ande after the physical activity program. The research has 35 participants, being older adults from 65 years and older who regularly attend the Diabetic Club Patate Health Center Type B. In the initial assessment of balance and gait using the Tinetti scale modified, we obtained that 23% of older adults are at high risk of falls.Similarly, in the initial assessment of the body mass index, it was observed that 40% of participants ere overweight, and the only 34% of them.

    This research project is based on the study of family relationships and their influence with psychological well-being in older adults, which was carried out in the city of Pilarlo with elderly adults who attend workshops in the Señor de los Remedios Elderly Asylum. The present research is based on the methodology of documentary-bibliography type, because the basic information was obtained from books, scientific articles, magazines among other important publications and thus obtain different points of view on the subject; And also the field methodology because it was necessary to use psychological reagents and to verify the established hypothesis. The applied reagents are the Intrafamilial Relations (ERI) scale of María Elena Rivera Heredia and Patricia Andrade Palos, in which the level of union and support, difficulties and expression within the family can be obtained as well as the Psychological Welfare scale of María Martina Casullo as a result of you can get the level of well-being of sane in various dimensions of the person. A fundamental part for the development of this research is the contextualization because the previous researches found help to know that there are other investigations related to this subject of investigation besides that it can be evidenced if it will be useful for our society. This research presents the results obtained, their analysis and interpretation of each psychological reagent applied to the elderly, in addition to tabulation with graphs of each test.

    Creencias Irracionales y Calidad de Vida en Adultos Mayores

    This research was specifically based on the study of irrational beliefs and quality of life in older adults on care centers Vida a los años, La Vida es Bella and the association of older adults Nuestra Señora de la Elevación. Tungurahua. The sample consisted of 56 older adults with ages over 65 years who were evaluated by two individual-apply psychological tests: First the Irrational Beliefs Test IBT from Calvete and Cardeñoso, modified and validated in Colombian population by Chavez, L. and Quiceno N., 2010 which evaluated the irrational Beliefs, in order to have a closer context to our country; Then the Quality of Life Scale for third age MGH, from Alvarez, M. Quintero, G. And Bayarre, H. which evaluated the levels of quality of life in older adults. The evaluation found that irrational beliefs are not significantly related to the quality of life in older adults. However, it was determined that the irrational belief and the level of quality of life mostly evidenced in this population were the “high auto-expectations” and “Low Quality of Life”, respectively.
