Item ADICCIÓN A LOS VIDEOJUEGOS Y LA AUTOESTIMA EN LOS ADOLESCENTES(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-09) Tapia Bautista, Adrian Alexander; Mena Freire, Marco AntonioVideo game addiction in adolescents manifests itself as a strong dependence and obsession to play. On the other hand, self-esteem refers to how a person values him/herself and feels capable of facing life's challenges. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between these two variables. The study sample consisted of 103 participants, ranging in age from 14 to 16 years. This work has a quantitative-no n - experimental approach with a cross-sectional design and correlational scope. For data collection, the GASA-Short test version adapted to Spanish by Llorel et al., (2017) and a Rosenberg self-esteem scale (RSE) originally developed by Morris Rosenberg (1965) were used. The data were analyzed using Spearman's correlation test using the statisti c a l program Jamovi version 2.3.28. The results showed that there is no relationship betwee n self-esteem and video game addiction (Rho= 0.019 p>0.05) suggesting that both adolescents with high self-esteem and those with low self-esteem may develop video game addiction in similar proportions. Mg.The objective of this study is to identify the relationship between sleep quality indices and levels of dependence on video games in adolescents. The Pittsburgh sleep quality index (ICSP) and the videogame dependence test (TDV), were used in a school in Quero-Tungurahua. The results obtained by the Jamovi statistical system and Spearman's rho correlation test showed that there is a positive correlation between the scores of the variables sleep quality and dependence on video games (Rho 0.207, p <0.05), this finding that rates of poor sleep quality increase as the level of dependence on video games increases. 60.7% (n=91) of adolescents had good sleep quality and 76.7 (n=115) had low levels of dependence on video games, with men showing higher levels of video game addictionItem La agresividad y su relación con la adicción a videojuegos en adolescentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-09-01) Millan Velasquez, Marco Eduardo; Gavilanes Gómez, Guillermo Daniel Psi. Cl. Mg.The study aimed to determine if there is a significant relationship between levels of aggressiveness and levels of video game addiction in adolescents. The study had a quantitative, correlational, and cross-sectional approach, using a sample of 222 high school students, 119 men and 103 women from the "Villa Florida" Educational Unit in the city of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas - Ecuador. For the evaluation, two psychological instruments were applied: the Buss and PerryAggressiveness Questionnaire of the year 2002, which consists of 29 items, and the Spanish Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-Short-Form (IGDS9-SF) of the year 2020, of 9 items, both instruments They have a Likert scale for the answers. The data analysis was carried out with the SPSS statistical program through the Spearman's Rho test, the same one in which it was possible to determine that there is a significant correlation between the levels of aggressiveness and the levels of video game addiction (p<0.01). According to the data obtained through the evaluations, the levels of aggressiveness in adolescents are determined with a predominance in the middle levels with 33.3% and with high levels with 27.0% of high school students, so Consequently, regarding the levels of video game addiction, it is possible to determine low levels with 95.5% of the population, emphasizing that 0.9% have high levels of IGD, which means that there is a certain predisposition for adolescents to learn behaviors and normalize certain behaviors as evidenced in some video games, considering the advantages and disadvantages that the use of video games implies in adolescents. Inf. Mg.The following study focused on identifying the relationship between different personality traits and dependence on video games, for which the participation of university students from the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato, located in the city of Ambato, in the province of Tungurahua, was considered. As for the implementation of the project, a cross-sectional approach was used, being that it was developed during the academic period April 2022 - September 2022, additionally, correlational parameters were maintained between the variables, complemented by a non- experimental quantitative carácter. With respect to the study population, the participation of students belonging to the careers of Medicine, Clinical Psychology, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Nutrition and Dietetics was contemplated. Subsequently, we worked with a total sample of 127 students, of which 94 women and 33 men were identified, who agreed to participate voluntarily. The data collection process was through the digitalization of the instruments in the Google Forms platform, where the respective section of voluntary acceptance of participation was added, ensuring in turn, the protection of identity and confidentiality. The tests that were used included the International Personality Disorders Examination (IPDE) and the Test of Video Game Dependence (TDV), with which it was possible to determine the personality traits and the level of dependence on video games present in each of the university students evaluated. Finally, the SPSS program was used for the analysis and interpretation of data concerning the predominant personality traits in university students, the prevalent level of dependence and its recurrence in terms of the gender of the population.Item Dependencia a los videojuegos y su relación con el estrés académico en adolescentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-09-01) Chiluisa Flores, Estefani Gabriela; Gaibor Gonzalez, Ismael Alvaro, Psi.Cl.Mg.Currently, the use of video games is a recreational practice most used by young people, however, excessive use is a concern for mental and physical health. In addition to this, academic stress has been taken into account, which has been increasing. That is why the objective of this study was to identify if there is a relationship between the dependence on video games and academic stress in adolescents. For which a quantitative and cross-sectional study was carried out, in 104 adolescents between (12-18 years old), the Video Game Dependence Test (TDV) and the Cognoscitivist Systemic Inventory for the study of academic stress were obtained second version of 21 items (SISCO SV-21 Inventory). In the results, it was found that academic stress is between moderate and severe, in addition there are no differences between gender, unlike the dependence on video games where there are low levels and men are more dependent than women.
