During the aging process, changes occur that affect various areas of the body, leading to a decrease in physical function and motor ability. These changes can restrict or reduce the ability to perform activities of daily living, especially the more complex ones, known as instrumental activities of daily living (IADL). These include tasks such as using the telephone, housekeeping, preparing meals, shopping, doing laundry, managing finances, taking medication, and using public transportation. Therefore, there is a need to assess functionality in the elderly population using the LawtonBrody Scale, a widely recognized instrument for measuring people's ability to perform instrumental activities of daily living (IADL). The functionality of elderly people from four cantons belonging to the province of Tungurahua was assessed, which is particularly important because this region, like many others, faces a progressive demographic aging. This implies that more and more people will reach advanced ages, and therefore, it is crucial to identify possible functional impairments early. This will allow the design and implementation of interventions aimed at improving their quality of life and maintaining their autonomy for as long as possible. The research identified the need to implement a modification of the scale to facilitate selfassessment of functionality. For this reason, it is very important to adapt the Lawton-Brody Scale pictographically, which would allow the elderly population to self-assess in a more accessible and understandable way, in this way they can know their functional status and request help in time if necessary. The use of simple visual representations of the activities to be assessed is especially beneficial for those people with cognitive difficulties or reading limitations, as it reduces comprehension barriers and promotes a more intuitive assessment. This adaptation not only facilitates the direct participation of older adults in their own assessment, but would also improve the accuracy of the results by better reflecting their personal perception of their functional abilities.

Adolescence is a transitional stage characterized by physical and emotional changes . Adolescents are more prone to develop mental health problems. Anxiety and video game dependence are phenomena that have increased in prevalence in recent years in adolescents, reflecting a significant challenge. Therefore, the aim of the study was to determine the relationship between anxiety and dependence on video games in adolescents between 13 and 19 years of age in the rural sector. The study used a quantitative approach with a non-experimental design and correlational scope, with a cross-sectional cut. The instrument used to assess anxiety was the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) and the Test of Video Game Dependence (TDV) was used to assess video game dependence. After analyzing the results, a prevalence of moderate anxiet y and a low level of video game dependence were found. In addition, significant differenc e s were observed between men and women in video game dependence, with men having a higher score. Finally, it was found that there was a slight positive relationship betwee n the variables studied.

Cl. Mg
Dependence is an emotional state accompanied by a behavioral pattern that suggests difficulty in making decisions autonomously and rationally, while well-being is a subjective perception of harmony in the areas of personal, social and family development. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between emotional dependence and psychological well-being in military personnel. A non-experimental quantitative study with a descriptive and correlational cross-sectional design was used. A total of 206 military personnel from Ecuador with a mean age of 30.42 participated in the study, who were selected by means of non-probabilistic intentional sampling at the convenience of the researcher using inclusion criteria. The Emotional Dependence Questionnaire (EDC) and Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Questionnaire were used as instruments. The results show prevalence of normal (43.2%) and mild dependence (40.3%); in addition, moderate (55.8%) and low (43.2%) levels of psychological well-being; no significant associations were found between emotional dependence and marital status (p= ,101 > 0.50) or between psychological well-being and military marital status (p = ,342 > .050). Finally, no significant relationship was found between emotional dependence and psychological well-being (Rho = ,390 > 0.50), however, the correlation coefficient was (r= -.060), inferring that people with low levels of dependence will have high psychological well-being. It was concluded that emotional dependence is inversely related to psychological well-being, both variables are important when assessing the mental health of military personnel

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Fisioterapia, 2023-03-01) Vilatuña Llulluna, Cristhian David; Cantuña Vallejo, Paúl Fernando Dr. Esp.
The general objective was to estimate the relationship between rhythmic auditory stimulation and functional dependence in older adults. This is a correlational research since the different tests will be carried out in order to find a relationship between rhythmic auditory stimulation and functional dependence having a quantitative approach and an experimental design, pilot type. A group of older adults was analyzed, where evaluations were applied to measure their functional dependence with the Barthel Index, the Lawton and Brody scale and also the evaluation with Rhythmic Auditory Stimulation. The population constituted a sample of 60 adults over 65 years of age with a mean age of 75 years. The results showed that the functional dependence evaluated with the Barthel Index and the Lawton and Brody scale is related to the rhythmic auditory stimulation with a significance of P=0.000. In conclusion, functional dependence assessed with the Barthel Index had a statistically significant higher relationship with rhythmic auditory stimulation according to the Spearman correlation coefficient of .835, indicating that estimating the frequency to work with rhythmic auditory stimulation should use its relationship with the Barthel Index assessment.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-09-01) Millan Velasquez, Marco Eduardo; Gavilanes Gómez, Guillermo Daniel Psi. Cl. Mg.
The study aimed to determine if there is a significant relationship between levels of aggressiveness and levels of video game addiction in adolescents. The study had a quantitative, correlational, and cross-sectional approach, using a sample of 222 high school students, 119 men and 103 women from the "Villa Florida" Educational Unit in the city of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas - Ecuador. For the evaluation, two psychological instruments were applied: the Buss and PerryAggressiveness Questionnaire of the year 2002, which consists of 29 items, and the Spanish Internet Gaming Disorder Scale-Short-Form (IGDS9-SF) of the year 2020, of 9 items, both instruments They have a Likert scale for the answers. The data analysis was carried out with the SPSS statistical program through the Spearman's Rho test, the same one in which it was possible to determine that there is a significant correlation between the levels of aggressiveness and the levels of video game addiction (p<0.01). According to the data obtained through the evaluations, the levels of aggressiveness in adolescents are determined with a predominance in the middle levels with 33.3% and with high levels with 27.0% of high school students, so Consequently, regarding the levels of video game addiction, it is possible to determine low levels with 95.5% of the population, emphasizing that 0.9% have high levels of IGD, which means that there is a certain predisposition for adolescents to learn behaviors and normalize certain behaviors as evidenced in some video games, considering the advantages and disadvantages that the use of video games implies in adolescents.

(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de posgrados, 2021-04-01) Posso López, Giovanna Paulina Md.; Dra. Meléndez Herrera, Mónica Cecilia Esp.
Functionality in the elderly is part of a main axis for actions aimed at strengthening aging, as opposed to the increase in this age group. The various physical conditions or chronic pathologies have a negative effect on their functional capacity, which is why control actions are required in order to reduce dependency that contributes to further deterioration. This research has a quantitative, descriptive approach, with a cross-section of older adults in the Community of San Juan Latacunga in the period from 2019 to 2020. The total of older adults in the community of San Juan is 73 people, data taken from family cards and tests applied to older adults. The sociodemographic and cultural characteristics relevant to the study were: age, sex, marital status, level of education, ethnicity, religion, economic level. For this study, the Katz and Lawton and Brody Test was applied to measure the level of dependency of the older adult. It is evident that 49.32% (36) do not depend on third parties since they maintain their physical health, 36.99% (27) have a slight dependency, 2.74% (2) a moderate dependency, and as relevant data from the study, 10.96% (8) have a serious dependency, I feel related to the high rate of degenerative diseases that impair the vital function of older adults. The perception of self-care and the level of dependency are inversely proportional, since the greater the dependency, the less self-care will be
