The objective was to determine the existence of a relationship between personality traits and the risk of addiction to social networks and the Internet. The approach was quantitative with a non -experimentaltransversal design and with a descriptive-correlational scope. 137 students of both sexes with ages between 14 and 17 years were evaluated. The instruments used were the International Examination of Personality Disorders DSM -IV (IPDE) and the Adolescent Addiction Risk Scale for Social Networks and the Internet (ERA-RSI). In the descriptive analysis, it was determined that 89.1% of adolescents do not present a risk of addiction to social networks and the Internet. The findings allowed us to determine that there is no correlation between personality traits and the risk of addiction to social networks and the Internet.
