    The completion of this research project was to analyze the family dysfunction and its influence on the emotional dependence on students from the Technical University of Ambato, Faculty of Health Sciences of the School of Physical Therapy; It began with bibliographic research about family dysfunction and emotional dependence, considering previous worldwide research, Latin America and Ecuador, mainly extracting relevant statistics and data necessary for the contextualization and theoretical foundation. Has methodological framework , refers to the type of research, selection of the study area, population, interventional procedures, ethical aspects that safeguard the safety and welfare of the population studied. We used two psychological questionnaires. One was THE FAMILY FUNCTIONING (FF-SIL), and the other one was THE EMOTIONAL DEPENDENCE. These were applied to 192 people randomly selected throughout the semester, thus obtaining results for the analysis and interpretation of them, They've been expressed by tables and graphs. Chi square method was used from the SPSS program in order to perform hypothesis testing,whether there is relationship between family dysfunction and emotional dependence. Obtaining that they not related to each other. It concluded that this research is original and innovative, because other projects contemplated that only one of these two variables outlined above were found.
