Item Autoestima y su relación con el modelo estético corporal en estudiantes universitarios(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-09-01) López Acosta, Paola Monserrath; García Ramos, Diana Carolina, Psi. Cl. Mg.The present investigation was conducted to determine the relationship between self- esteem and the aesthetic body shape model in university students. Psychometric instruments were used to carry out the study. The Ronsenberg Self-Esteem Scale was used for self-esteem levels and the Questionnaire of the Influence of the Aesthetic Body Model (CIMEC) was used for the aesthetic body shape model. The selected population met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, with a total sample of 115 students of clinical psychology between the ages of 18 to 23 years. The research is of a quantitative, correlational type with a cross- section, for which statistical data was obtained with the instruments used to determine the correlation between both variables by means of Spearman's rho statistical test. In relation to self-esteem levels, high levels were found more frequently in (52.2%) of the participants and medium levels in (34.8%), with a low percentage of low levels (13.8%). There is evidence of less influence by the aesthetic body model in (60%) of the population and greater influence in (40%). In terms of the gender comparison of participants, the female population had a larger influence of the aesthetic model of the body (45.3%) than the male population (24.1%).
