    Depresión y su Influencia en la Adaptación Social de pacientes con diagnóstico de Cáncer entre las edades de 30 a 60 años del Hospital Oncológico Julio Enrique Paredes, Solca Tungurahua

    The following work research sought to demonstrate the influence of the depression on the social adjustment of patients diagnosed with cancer between 30 and 60 years old who attended the Julio Enrique Paredes hospital, SOLCA Tungurahua during the investigation period, to provide a contribution to the solution and treatment in such cases, where the beneficiaries would be the patients and the family who are an essential part in the sustenance and support especially in chronic diseases such as cancer. In order to perform this study a sample of 82 patients were took, patients who attended the aforementioned institution, for which the following batteries of the psychological evaluation were used: The Hamilton Scale approved for the Evaluation for Depression (Hamilton) (Ham-D) and the Self-administered Social Adjustment Scale (SASS) with the main objective of investigating the problem. Later the evaluation and quantification of the recorded data through analysis of response achieved with Chi2 of Pearson, it was proved that depression affects social adjustment in patients with cancer diagnosis, it means the hypothesis is true.
