The present research had as main objective to establish if it existed or no relationship between Self-concept and Emotional Intelligence in first, second and third year of baccalaureate of the Pastocalle Educational Unit, belonging to the Latacunga district of Cotopaxi province. This is a non-experimental, correlational research, which was carried out in a sample of 119 teenagers of both sexes, with ages between 14 and 18 years, applying psychometric and documentary techniques for their realization. Was used the Self-Concept questionnaire (SC1) How am I? and Emotional Intelligence Inventory Bar-On: Na. The results indicate a positive correlation between both variables, indicating that the higher the level of self-concept, the greater the emotional capacity and vice versa. On the other hand, it was determined that the majority of adolescents perceive a moderate general self-concept, as well as an average total emotional quotient that is the one that predominates most in the evaluated students, when comparing the variables with regard to gender, there were few significant differences in favor of the male gender.
