Mg.The objective of the present investigation was to determine the relationship between Pre-Competitive Anxiety and Psychological Characteristics Related to Sports Performance of soccer players of the highest category, at the Macará Sports Club in the city of Ambato. The application of the reagents was carried out in a total sample of 37 male people between 18 and 34 years of age. The precompetitive anxiety variable was evaluated with the Precompetitive Anxiety Inventory (CSAI-2) of Martens (1990), while the performance variable was evaluated with the Mahoney and Perkins Psychological Characteristics of Sports Performance Questionnaire (CPRD) (1987). The statistical method used to verify the hypothesis was the Chi-square (xa), with which it was verified that there is no relationship between precompetitive anxiety and psychological characteristics related to sports performance
