Basketball is one of the most popular sports in Ecuador, especially among young people. This discipline requires high cardiorespiratory performance, and for these athletes, it is essential to effectively assess this system during physical activity. Specific tests, such as ergospirometry, are used by high-performance athletes; however, alternatives exist, such as smartwatches. For this reason, the present project aimed to determine the level of agreement between devices for measuring the anaerobic threshold. The research was framed within a non-experimental design with a quantitative approach. Furthermore, it is considered a descriptive cross-sectional study because only one assessment was performed on the participants. The population was selected through convenience sampling, with a total of 30 young participants, ages 12 to 15, from “The Blue Hawks" basketball training school in the city of Ambato. The evaluation was carried out using three devices at the same time (Apple Watch Series 6, Xiaomi Band 8 and Moofit HR8 Band), which recorded the heart rate of each participant during the Navette Test Course. The results showed that there is excellent reliability between the Band vs Apple devices (ICC = 0.961-0.980), on the other hand, the congruence of Apple vs Xiaomi (ICC = 0.878-0.935) was slightly higher than Band vs Xiaomi (ICC = 0.860-0.925). Demonstrating that the concordance between the Moofit HR8 Band and the Apple Watch Series 6 is high compared to the Xiaomi Band 8, all this during physical activity.

This study analyzes how social pressure and excessive use of technology influence the emotional well-being of adolescents. The aim of this research was to determine the relationship between sexting behaviors and anxiety in adolescents. A sample of 100 male and female participants was taken, ranging in age from 12 to 18 years old. This study is a non-experimental quantitative approach, cross-sectional and correlational in scope. For the variables studied, the Behavioral Scale on sexting ECS adapted by Chacón-López et al. (2016) and the Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) developed by Clark & Beck (2012) were used. To obtain the results, the Spearman correlation test was applied, finding that there was a slight positive correlation between anxiety and active disposition (Rho= 0.210 p<0.05), and participation (Rho= 0.225 p<0.05), but there was no relationship with emotional expression (Rho=0.061 p>0.05). These data allowed concluding that those who have an active disposition towards sexting and a greater participation in this practice tend to experience anxiety symptoms.

Technological advancements in recent years have significantly transformed clinica l laboratory services, enhancing the quality, efficiency, and accuracy of results. Clinica l laboratories play a crucial role in healthcare by providing valuable information to physicians. Automation frees up resources and time that can be dedicated to more specialized tasks, such as result analysis and interpretation, enabling laborat or y professionals to deliver a higher level of precision in their service. However, the implementation of automation must be carefully planned, taking into considera t io n factors such as costs, staff training, and the availability of suitable technolog i es. Furthermore, it is important to recognize that automation is not applicable in all scenarios and its introduction should be rigorously evaluated. On the other hand, clinical laboratories must stay updated and improve their methods as technol og y progresses, leveraging the opportunities offered by automation to optimize operati o na l efficiency and quality standards. It is proposed that educational programs be updated to include the handling of new technological equipment in the training of health c ar e professionals.

The vision of technology as a tool to improve people's living conditions influences many aspects of assistance and care. Nursing skills include the role of nurses as a link between technology and patients, application of nursing ethics, education in technology management, and education of different disciplines. The objective of this article is to describe the effects of the use of technologies in nursing care. Using a bibliographic review with the Prisma method, a total of 15 articles were analyzed, with the main results being that taking advantage of technology in the training of nurses improves clinical and institutional skills and facilitates adaptation to the work environment. In addition, telemedicine and ICT (information and communication technology) are an essential part of the evolution and use of technological tools as part of patient care.

This is an applied research, based on the compilation of longitudinal and prospective experimental explanatory studies, consisting of the development of an application based on emerging technologies for the characterization of the epidemiological aspects in the COVID-19 Pandemic, caused by the SARS coronavirus. -Cov-2, applied for research purposes in a sample of the population of the Ambato canton with a total of 911 patients. As knowledge, it all started with a report of several infections of atypical pneumonia in the city of Wuhan, China, it soon spread throughout the world, until it reached our country, Ecuador, leaving one of the most devastating havoc in all history. of humanity, which continues to affect and shock the world population with its deadly characteristics and great capacity for mutation, therefore, it was decided to create this type of application so that it can contribute and help in the management of this infectious-contagious disease. Obtaining a diagnostic efficiency through the platform with evidence of a high specificity greater than 95% with a sensitivity of a little more than 56%. The main objective is to evaluate epidemiological aspects in the COVID-19 pandemic in the Ambato canton through an integrated platform based on emerging technologies, specifically, discover some epidemiological aspects of said pandemic, identify the geolocation of the pandemic and analyze the results. of the epidemiological characterization of it, in order to support local actions aimed at control and prevention in the community. The evaluation process allowed obtaining relevant epidemiological data for the characterization of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Ambato canton, consisting of the sample of 911 patients from the aforementioned canton, self-assessed by the platform during the period from October 5, 202 to April 30, 2021.

Introduction: Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus type 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is the third agent within its species that has caused an emerging crisis during the 21st century. The existence of risk factors specific to each population for coronavirus disease 2019 makes new research necessary. Objective: To evaluate risk factors for SARS-CoV-2 virus infection present in the population of Ambato Canton through an integrated platform. Methodology: Patients from the Ambato canton were evaluated through the risk factor module enabled in the computer application. From October 2020 to April 2021. People over 14 years of age, exposed to coronavirus in home isolation, who have agreed to participate in the research, were included. Results: 626 people were selected for clinical evaluation. The infection rate was 8%. In this group, the following predominated: the range of 18 to 26 years (84%), the female gender (72%), the mestizo population (96%), the adequate weight (84%) and a mild evolution of the disease (98%); in addition, 6% presented social risk factors. Of xiii the 52 people with pathological history, 4 were cases of infection (7.69%). Of the total of 463 women and 163 men, the positive cases were 36 (7.77%) and 14 (8.58%) respectively. Conclusions: The young adult population of the Ambato canton constitutes an important risk group for SARS-CoV-2 infection. The presence of pathological antecedents did not increase the risk of infection in these patients and the majority had a mild clinical picture. Both women and men seem to have the same risk of getting sick. Social risk factors, although they were not determining factors due to their incidence values, represent a condition that can be prevented

The comparative research establish the connection between technology use and language development in 4-year-old children. Furthermore, this research included 34 kids who attend to Preschool at Sagrada Familia School. The 34 kids were assigned into two groups, an experimental group and a control group. Qualitative and quantitative methods were used throughout the information gathering techniques. Therefore, to get the kids’ language development level, language sub test from psychomotor development test TEPSI was used. The test’s images were used with the experimental group while technology was used with the control group. The test results were obtained and they were analyzed by a statistics program. Additionally, the technology use promoted the language assessment obtaining appropriate scores in relation to the kids’ age. Definitely, technology has to be taken as a supportive key to language development on digital natives. It is in that way how new research areas emerge about technology and its therapeutic use in early stimulation areas.
