Item Wordup mobile app in the English vocabulary(Carrera de Pedagogía de los Idiomas Nacionales y Extranjeros, 2022-03-01) Recalde Jumbo, Marlon Rodrigo; Vera de la Torre, Ana JazminaTechnological tools focused on education have become an essential part of the learning development of each student, so it has been developing several resources that allow students to have an interactive learning, hence the WordUp mobile app is a tool that wants to help students in learning and practicing English vocabulary. The main aim of this research was focused on describing how WordUp mobile app improves the learning process of the English vocabulary. The process of this research work used a quantitative approach in order to collect statistical data and perform an analysis of the investigation. The research was applied in a population of 22 students, 13 men and 9 women from 2do de Bachillerato General Unificado from Unidad Educativa “CEC” school, the treatment of this research was in 5 weeks with a total of 5 sessions. Also, the instrument of this investigation was a validated Cambridge English Qualifications test called “A2 Key (KET)”, which was utilized to collect data from 22 participants, and was applied as a pre-test and post-test. This test consisted of 2 reading sections, which focused on testing vocabulary through activities such as multiple-choice questions. This test was applied at the beginning and end of the research, where the Pre-test and average of 9,0, and in the post-test was an average of 10,68 giving a difference of 1,68. To prove the hypothesis T-test was used which gave a P-value of 0,000 lower than the significant level that is 0,05, accepting the alternative hypothesis. Finally, the conclusion of the research proposed that the WordUp mobile app enhanced the English vocabulary in the students, demonstrating the app has a great impact on students learning English vocabulary.Item The Starfall app and the English pronunciation(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la Educación-Carrera de Idiomas, 2021-01-01) Cando Sánchez, Johanna Lizbeth; Calero Sánchez, Ximena AlexandraThis study aimed to research how the Starfall app develops in the English pronunciation since it is a new alternative to learn the language oriented to children in preschool, kindergarten, first, second and third grade. This program emphasizes exploration, play, and positive reinforcement, encouraging kids to feel safe and motivated to learn. For the research development, a quasi-experimental qualitative methodology was used with 10 fourth-year students from Basic Education School "Marcial Augusto Soria", whose ages fluctuated between 8 and 9 years OLD. They were evaluated before and after the five-week intervention. At the end of the research, the results of the pre and post-test were compared and it was possible to verify the effectiveness of the Starfall application in English pronunciation. Before the experimentation, most of the students were in level 1, that means, there was limited control of phonological characteristics and incomprehensible speech. However, at the end of the experimentation, the majority were placed at level 3 which was satisfactory, and at level 4, being very good because the speech was understandable, there was good intonation, use of accent and in general, good articulation of wordsItem “Wordbit inglés” app and English vocabulary(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la Educación-Carrera de Idiomas, 2020-11-01) Almeida Moreta, Johanna Viviana; Calero Sánchez, Ximena AlexandraTo learning new vocabulary is essential to improve the proficiency level of the English language and to achieve this goal it is necessary to use proper methods, strategies, resources during the day to facilitate the learning process. The principal aim of this research is to evaluate the “WordBit Inglés” mobile application in the development of English vocabulary. This study was developed at the First Semester of “Carrera de Pedagogía de los Idiomas Nacionales y Extranjeros” in Universidad Técnica de Ambato, with 22 students. First, an online survey was applied to teachers to determine which technological resources they use in the classroom. Another students’ online survey was used to identify which technological resources the students manage during the class. This work used the experimental research with qualitative and quantitative approaches. To collect data the researcher used KET Pre-test and Post-test. The mobile application was used for 2 weeks. It was used SPSS 25 and T-Student test to analyze the collected data. To conclude, the results showed that the “WordBit Inglés” mobile application had positive effects on the development of English vocabulary. Its interface, resource, structure, and methodology were catching to students so they learned new vocabulary in short periods of time. These features made students and teacher feel secure, comfortable, and engage to develop English vocabulary
