Item Inteligencia espacial en las capacidades físicas condicionales en estudiantes de educación general básica superior(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Pedagogía de la Actividad Física y Deporte, 2025-01-17) Freire Moreira Roberto Carlos; Villalba Garzón Gabriela Alexandra; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Pedagogía de la Actividad Física y DeporteThis study analyzes the relationship of spatial intelligence on the conditional physical abilities of upper elementary students at Unidad Educativa Pío López during the 2024- 2025 period. This research highlights the importance of understanding how cognitive skills, such as spatial intelligence, influence physical and motor development during formative years. The main objective was to determine the relationship between spatial intelligence and physical abilities such as strength, flexibility, endurance, and speed. A quantitative approach with a correlational, cross-sectional, documentary and field design was employed. The Eurofit battery was applied to assess physical abilities, and Raven's Progressive Matrices were used to measure spatial intelligence. Statistical analysis included Pearson's correlation to identify associations between variables. The results showed a moderate positive correlation between spatial intelligence and specific skills, such as explosive strength (r=0.488, p<0.05) and arm flexion (r=0.465, p<0.05). However, no significant relationships were found in abdominal endurance test. These findings highlight that spatial intelligence particularly influences activities requiring coordination and motor planning. It is concluded that spatial intelligence is a key factor in optimizing the development of certain physical abilities. Therefore, it is recommended to incorporate activities that enhance this cognitive skill into physical education programs, fostering holistic learning and improved athletic performance. This study provides evidence to design pedagogical strategies that integrate cognitive and physical development in student training
