Currently, the world is being affected by an epidemiological outbreak caused by SARS-CoV-2, the etiological agent of Covid-19. Its discovery and isolation occurred for the first time in the city of Wuhan, Hubei province in China. Its rapid spread caused the World Health Organization (WHO) to declare Covid-19, as a pandemic, on March 11, 2020, and also urged countries to take control measures to face the greatest emergency in public health worldwide. During the early days of the pandemic, ignorance of a defined treatment caused the collapse of the health system and a global economic recession. These factors influenced the population to seek alternative treatments that counteract the symptoms caused by Covid-19, among them the use of medicinal plants and the consumption of fruits; The same that either by its antiviral, anti-inflammatory uses, strengthening the immune system or to treat respiratory diseases, reduce the symptoms generated by this disease. Therefore, the present research aims to identify the effect that medicinal plants and fruits have against Covid-19 in the countries of the Ibero-American bloc, as possible coadjuvants in a complementary treatment for this infectious disease.
