Body image is the set of perceptions, thoughts, emotions and behaviors that a person has in relation to his or her own body, while alcohol consumption is a public proble m worldwide, being a substance of greater consumption in adolescence. The objective of this study is to determine the relationship between body image and alcohol consumpt i o n in adolescents. The sample used was 120 students between 13 and 18 years of age from an educational unit. The research had a non-experimental quantitative approach with a cross-sectional and correlational scope. The Body Image Questionnaire (BSQ) created by Cooper, Taylor and Fairburn in 1996 and the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) created by the World Health Organization in 1992 were used to measure the variables. The results showed that there is no significant relationship between these two variables (Rho= 0.145 p>0.05), as for sex there is no statistically significant differe n c e between men (M=1.85) and women (M=2.96) with a (U=985, p>0.05).

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-08-01) Jiménez Zapata, Doménica Nayerly; Ponce Delgado, Agueda del Rocio Dra. Mg.
The present research focused on determining the correlation between alcohol consumption in male employees of a private company and domestic violence in the wives of these employees. To achieve this, standardized instruments were used, such as the “AUDIT” alcohol consumption disorders identification test administered to the husbands, the scale for measuring intrafamily violence (VIFJ4), applied only to the wives. The results of the investigation revealed a strong positive correlation between alcohol consumption in men and domestic violence in women (p < 0.001), a considerable prevalence of excessive alcohol consumption among the population studied, as well as a high incidence of domestic violence, especially from men towards women. In addition, significant differences were identified in alcohol consumption in men according to socioeconomic level, highlighting an association between lower socioeconomic status and higher alcohol consumption.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2023-03-01) Herrera Cabezas, Luis Alfonso; Mena Freire . Ps. Cl. Mgs, Marco Antonio
This project was carried out to identify the relationship between alcohol consumption and aggressiveness in adolescents in the city of Ambato; The Alcohol use Disorders Identification test (AUDIT) was used to measure levels of alcohol consumption, and the Buss and Perry AQ Aggression Questionnaire was used to measure levels of aggressiveness, in a population of 280 adolescents. The modality that was studied is based on the non-experimental and field approach, since the variables proposed in the research were not manipulated, in turn with a descriptive correlational level because it seeks to relate alcohol consumption and aggressiveness in adolescents. On the other hand, the Jamovi 2.3.18 tool was used in order to analyze the data, determining that alcohol consumption in adolescents has a slight positive relationship with aggressiveness, that is, the greater the consumption, the greater the aggressiveness.

The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the dimensions of academic stress and alcohol consumption, the study was descriptive correlational type. The population with which we worked was with the students of the Juan León Mera Educational Unit "La Salle". The sample was of 190 students, who were in sixth year of baccalaureate between the ages of 17 to 18 years. In order to evaluate the dimensions of academic stress, the SISCO test by Arturo Barraza was used and AUDICT by Perula de Torreza was used for alcohol consumption. According to the results obtained, it was concluded that there is a relationship between these two variables, it was also possible to describe the levels and dimensions of academic stress where the stressor that affected the most was the excess of evaluations. He found physiological symptoms such as drowsiness or need to sleep. In the psychological reactions it was demonstrated problems in the cognitive sphere, anxiety and anguish, within the behavioral reactions it was evidenced that there is prevalence in the demotivation by the educational activities. Regarding the data in the coping strategies that students use the most, assertive ability was found to be the most used. (Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud-Carrera Psicología Clínica, 2016-08-01) Zuñiga Paredes, Eduardo Luis; Lara Salazar, Cristina Mariela. Psc. Inf. Msc
Assertiveness is one of the capabilities of human beings to express their beliefs and their rights, using a behavior devoid of aggressiveness and emphasizing the expression of their feelings, positive and negative opinion in any social situation. In several studies it has been determined that one of the main social skills that can prevent alcohol and other substances is assertiveness, poor ability to exchange ideas, thoughts and even their emotions, difficult problem solving and thus causes difficulties in defense of one's rights to others. Of course we take into account that alcohol is multicausal where personal, family and social variables, education is encompassed, all in relation to the chronicity of alcohol and tobacco use is directly linked with the absence of assertive behavior in the teenager because largely assertive behavior type are depleted either by lack of both family practice and personal or remote to negligent behavior regarding conflict resolution. The approach under which this work was done was quantitatively and qualitatively, in the first instance with the form of documentary bibliographical research and secondly with the mode field research, with the objective of correlating the variables studied.
