This research work was aimed at showing the social level, especially at Tungurahua, why it was considered that family dysfunction influences that family of depression among adolescent students. The research topic comes to the problems evidenced socially, especially at Tungurahua, which is why it was considered that family dysfunction influences the onset of depression among adolescent students. For data collection proceeded to the use of reagents such as psychometric Family Functioning FF-SIL which evaluates the level of family dysfunction that presents the population studied, too well, the Beck Depression Inventory was used II (BDI-II) which has revealed the different levels of depression that have teenagers. The project was developed in a sample population of 60 teenage students of both sexes who come regularly to the Education Unit Picaihua to them that were applied psychological reagents and were provided with the results of those whom they desired. By Chi Square Pearson test the alternative hypothesis which states that family dysfunction if it is related to depression in teenagers is accepted.
