    Optimización de la red de distribución de agua potable del Caserío Pondoa, perteneciente al cantón Baños de Agua Santa, provincia de Tungurahua

    According to the residents of the Pondoa Village, problems with the water supply have been occurring for some time, affecting their daily lives. After conducting an exhaustive analysis of the drinking water distribution network and its components, it was determined that the network is experiencing pressure problems beyond the limits established by current regulations. Therefore, this titling project focused on optimizing this system to guarantee a dignified and comfortable life for its residents. Furthermore, the implementation of new branches in the distribution system was sought, given the potential for population growth in an area with a recently implemented tourist attraction. To improve the system, the addition of two pressure regulating valves at strategic points in the main distribution line was proposed. The main distribution line is a 50 mm PVC pipe, which, due to its excessive diameter in relation to the flow it carries, generates the high pressures observed. This optimization was carried out based on a 20-year projected design flow rate of 0.2214 l/s. Taking into account the future population and potential location, the network was expanded with 20 mm PVC pipes and distributed by adding the new projected nodes. It was also necessary to analyze the current capacity of the storage tank to verify whether it meets the storage volume required for the design flow rate. It was also necessary to observe its physical condition to determine its condition and the feasibility of maintaining it in operation according to the projections. Finally, after conducting the respective financial analysis of the project, a reference budget of USD $20,764.33 (Twenty Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty-Four Dollars 33/100 Cents) was determined. This proposal seeks to ensure quality service and thus improve the lives of the residents of the Pondoa Village.
