Result: It was possible to identify that 75% of the older adults know about HTA, likewise their diet is based on fruits, vegetables and vegetables avoiding high consumption of salt, alcohol and cigarettes, however they do not attend controls frequently , more than half do their medical checkups once a year. A descriptive qualitative methodology focused on cross-sectional hermeneutic phenomenology was used, whose main objective was to carry out a reflexive analysis of the role played by the nursing professional in a gerontological center at a given time. As main results, we obtained the categorization of 7 items to which the older adult was subjected to generate the analysis where 7 women and 3 men participated, so it was possible to determine clear and precise criteria of what is being studied. Without a doubt, when analyzing the experience that the older adult goes through when admitted to an institution with these characteristics, it can be affirmed that it is a traumatic experience, so we must ensure that it is introduced in the most viable way possible, since it was demonstrated in the present study that poor adherence to this system will precipitate the inmate's quality of life and therefore they will not have a positive perception of the caregiver. Finally, it was concluded that the perception that the elderly resident of the Hogar Sagrado Corazón de Jesús has about the nursing professional in the development of their role is quite positive since it is framed in their total support, their safety, their nutrition, their style of life that for the majority of participants is satisfactory.Item Terapia alternativa para el cuidado de enfermería en adultos mayores(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2023-06-08) Logroño Padilla, Jessica Alexandra; Mejías de Duarte, MarianelaAnxiety is a common emotional disorder in the elderly that stems from physiological, emotional and social changes. Objective: To analyze the application of the Joyce Travelbee model in the personto-person relationship with older adults. Methodology: it is a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study developed in the home for the elderly ¨Mons. Tomas Romero Gross” with a population of 115 older adults of both genders, data collection was carried out through a therapeutic relationship survey based on the Joyce Travelbee model. Results: In the original encounter dimension, most of the indicators were acceptable, as well as emerging identities. In the empathy, compassion and transference dimensions, the results were positive. Conclusion: the person-to-person relationship between the nurse and the older adult was good because most of the indicators were acceptable, which is positive because they demonstrate the existence of a relationship between both agents, however these levels of relationship must be improved to reach levels and thereby improve the assistance and care provided to this highly vulnerable population, in addition to improving the quality of life in recent years.
