    Síndrome de sobrecarga del cuidador de personas con discapacidad

    The overload of the caregiver of disabled people represents a problem for the family due to the physical and psychological wear and tear they suffer because of the high level of stress they experience. The objective of this research was "to study the level of impact of being the main caregiver of patients with disabilities on a group of people", following a positivist paradigm, being a quantitative study, working with a population of 105 caregivers of people with some type of disability. The instrument used was the Zarit Caregiver Overload Scale, which showed that 91.4% of the participants presented intense overload. The prevalence of feelings such as fear for the future of their family member, overdependence on the family member being cared for, insufficient income to cover family expenses, overwhelm for trying to share care with another responsibility, feeling that the family member asks for more help than he/she really needs, and thinking that he/she has no privacy, stood out. Conclusion; the quality of life conditions of caregivers of family members with disabilities have been significantly affected, resulting in the presentation of the overload syndrome.
