The objective was to adapt its technical, aesthetic, and symbolic elements into functional and contemporary garments for men and women between 20 and 25 years old from the city of Ambato. This project was developed in collaboration with the company Capolivery and local leather artisans, valuing the ancestral knowledge of the talabartería. Through interviews, focus groups, and field observations, it was possible to identify the needs and expectations of the target audience. As a result, a collection of versatile and culturally significant garments was proposed, using materials such as denim, cotton, and natural leather, as well as handmade techniques like embossing and fraying. The proposal promotes the preservation of intangible heritage through fashion, linking traditional knowledge with design innovation. It also opens new opportunities for collaboration between artisans and designers, reinforcing the cultural identity of Ecuador in the textile industry.
