    This project aims to create a collection of bags that promotes the traditional weaving techniques of the Warmi Ruray Association, located in the province of Bolívar. This initiative responds to the need to give visibility and value to the ancestral knowledge of women artisans, who have preserved their skills with the support of the Salesian Community San Francisco Javier. The proposal mixes tradition and contemporary design in functional, original, and meaningful products for young women who appreciate culture and handmade items. The research uses qualitative methods such as interviews, focus groups, and textile experimentation sheets. These tools helped to analyze the weaving techniques, the preferences of the target audience, and how these techniques can be used in bag design. Based on this, a collection was created that meets aesthetic, functional, and cultural criteria, and encourages collaboration between design and the community. The project was carried out in collaboration with the Warmi Ruray Women's Association and was based on a methodology that covers the main areas of design. This proposal not only meets aesthetic and practical goals but also has the main purpose of giving visibility to traditional weaving techniques and promoting ancestral textile knowledge. As a result, the final bag collection blends traditional techniques with a modern approach, contributing to Ecuadorian design with cultural identity, innovation, and a strong commitment to the value of local crafts.
