Item Análisis del método de co-diseño en centros geriátricos para la creación de accesorios de indumentaria tejidos en Murano(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO TEXTIL E INDUMENTARIA, 2026-07-06) ozada Villafuerte Joselyn Viviana; Garcés Torres Ana Carolina; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO TEXTIL E INDUMENTARIAThis study analyzes the co-design methods used with older adults in the Picaihua Parish, with the aim of understanding their contribution to the creative process and their productive participation in the artisanal design of accessories woven with Murano beads. The study begins by identifying three problems: the gradual disappearance of ancestral craft skills, the deterioration of fine motor skills in older adults, and unemployment affecting this vulnerable group. Methodologically, the research was conducted through a co-design perspective, grounded in co-creation. Semi-structured interviews, observation sheets, and group workshops were used, conducted with the elderly members of the Picaihua Association at the parish GAD facilities. This procedure enabled the documentation of Murano bead weaving techniques as an important craft within the community. The results demonstrated that the co-creation method promotes the active participation of older adults in community spaces, enhancing their creative and productive abilities through the creation of accessories. This confirms that co-design is a useful methodological tool for highlighting the artisanal wisdom of older adults, preserving techniques, and creating opportunities for active participation that benefit both their well-being and the neighborhood’s cultural memory. It is concluded that codesign is an effective methodological tool for bringing the artisanal knowledge of older adults to the forefront, safeguarding techniques that are in danger of extinction, and creating opportunities for active participation that benefits both the cultural memory of the parish and the well-being of older adults.
