Diseño de una colección en denim con la aplicación de procesos y acabados sostenibles

El presente proyecto integrador se centra en el desarrollo de una colección de indumentaria en denim que aplique procesos de lavados y acabados sostenibles, motivado por el creciente problema de la contaminación ambiental generada por la industria textil, especialmente las lavanderías de denim. Para ello, se realizará una experimentación con productos amigables con el medio ambiente en los procesos y acabados del denim. El objetivo del proyecto es tener un impacto en la sociedad y más en el mundo de la moda mediante el uso de procesos y acabados sostenibles, demostrando que existen varios métodos de aplicación en los diferentes procesos en denim con el fin de contribuir con el medio ambiente. Este proyecto contribuirá a la conservación y cuidado del medio ambiente mediante la creación de prendas sostenibles. Además, se destacará la importancia de que los diseñadores de moda ofrezcan soluciones a los problemas ambientales y sociales causados por los desechos químicos generados diariamente por las lavanderías de denim. Este enfoque ha sido fundamental para la creación de una colección de indumentaria dirigida a un nuevo público objetivo, dispuesto a adquirir productos sostenibles sin sacrificar la calidad.
Experimentación de técnicas de intervención textil innovadoras en denim guiadas por tendencias emergentes para el sector textil en Pelileo

The textile sector in the Pelileo canton is characterized by the continued use of empirical finishing techniques and textile interventions that form part of both production and commercial operations. However, the limited incorporation of innovative approaches and restricted access to platforms featuring emerging trends reduce opportunities for aesthetic differentiation within an increasingly competitive market niche. The objective of this research was to experiment with innovative textile intervention techniques on denim, guided by emerging trends and local practices, with the aim of strengthening the textile sector in Pelileo. A qualitative approach with a descriptive-exploratory scope was employed, using fifteen semi-structured interviews with apparel designers, industrial laundry technicians, and textile workshop managers. Additionally, trend reports from specialized design and fashion platforms such as WGSN and Next Lab Lafayette were analyzed. The findings revealed a moderate aesthetic transformation in the sector, characterized by the predominance of minimalist finishes, frosted washes, and traditional textile processing techniques. Furthermore, an affinity was identified between the analyzed trends and the technical capabilities of local workshops, particularly in the application of distressed finishes and the enhancement of textures. It is concluded that the sector possesses technical and creative potential greater than that reflected in its current commercial offerings; however, limitations persist regarding sustainability, financial resources, access to specialized information, and the ability to anticipate trends.
