Item La tecnología inmersiva y el senderismo en la cascada Junjun del Rio Pachanlica(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación-Carrera de Turismo, 2025-12-11) Aldas Cuadrado Allison Fernanda; Sánchez Guerrero Daniel Oswaldo; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación-Carrera de TurismoThe present research aimed to analyze immersive technology and its contribution to hiking at the Junjun Waterfall of the Pachanlica River, located in Quero Canton, Tungurahua Province. The study addresses the need to incorporate innovative technological tools that enhance visitor motivation and improve their overall experience at the site. A quantitative methodology was applied, with a nonexperimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive design. The population consisted of potential tourists and visitors, with a sample of 203 individuals selected through simple random probabilistic sampling. Structured surveys using a Likert scale were employed, and statistical analysis was conducted using chi-square tests to verify the hypothesis. The results revealed that immersive technology, through 360° videos, generates a positive perception among visitors, increasing their sense of presence and motivation to undertake the trail. More than 80% of respondents considered this tool attractive for learning about the destination and fostering the intention to visit. However, limitations were identified in infrastructure, signage, and basic services, which affect perceptions of safety and accessibility. Despite these challenges, the scenic value of the trail remains the main motivator. It is concluded that immersive technology contributes to strengthening hiking at the Junjun Waterfall. Therefore, a strategy is proposed based on short promotional immersive experiences in 360° format, aimed at encouraging more people to visit the site and engage in hiking activities.
