(2024-08) Ortiz Vaca, Eduardo Mateo; Brito Alvarado, Leonardo Xavier
Superhero stories told in comic books have had a great cultural and social impact, monopolizing the entertainment and show business industries such as comics, movies and television. The narrative genre of superheroes refers to a set of stories focused on ethical and moral values, so that people can reflect themselves as part of a society. The main objective of this research is to identify an ideological perspective in Superman comics, which is used to manipulate and alter the thoughts of readers, thus creating ideals about a lifestyle that can only be achieved in the United States. For this, the comics were segmented into four fundamental contexts: the beginnings of Superman, the Second World War, the Cold War and a contemporary era, four important moments to understand how capitalism is transmitted to the world through these narratives, and how they take advantage of world events to transmit their ideology and culture. Therefore, it is necessary to understand the importance of Superman and his stories in these historical contexts, because comics have been an important tool for power to persuade people's thoughts in its favor. It all starts from a debate about American capitalism and how it exposes itself to the world through entertainment, sharing with comic book readers the values, culture, and the stigma of the American capitalism
