There is social innovation in the Cultural field in Ambato but it has a very slow growth due to the little use of communication strategies and products, there is a considerable amount of groups and cultural presentations, however very few people get to know of their activities and although Many times large institutions such as the “Gobierno Provincial Nucleo de Tungurahua” directly or indirectly support cultural groups to transcend their activities remain hidden for the majority of citizens. Even about 80% of people are not aware of most of the activities that will be or are being done in the city. The study was conducted between December 2016 and January 2017. The study was conducted through interviews, surveys and observation sheets with managers and members of cultural groups, as well as managers and with a percentage of young people from Ambato aged between 20 and 29, ages in which it’s considered that the possibility of Innovate is greater possibilities to take an interest in cultural activities. This study seeks to place cultural journalism as an alternative to generate social innovation. The acceptance of the diffusion of cultural activities in Ambato and the appropriation of the identity of the young people would generate a greater interest that would help to the evolution of this type of journalism.
