Item APLICACIÓN DE TERAPIA CELULAR EN EL TRATAMIENTO DE LESIONES CRÓNICAS Y DEGENERATIVAS EN PACIENTES CON ARTRITIS REUMATOIDE(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Medicina, 2024-09-25) Lindo Quilligana, Joselyn Nicole; Torres Torres, Johny MauricioIntroduction: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic, systemic, autoimmune disease that, thanks to advances in the understanding of immune and inflammatory mechanisms, has driven the development of therapies that offer new hope to patients suffering from incurable diseases, in which current therapeutic approaches focus on symptom control and not on curing the disease. Objective: To carry out a bibliographic review about the application of cell therapy in the treatment of chronic and degenerative lesions in patients with rheumatoid arthritis, through critical analysis of current and high-impact evidence to infer a better therapeutic approach in our environment. Methodology: bibliographic review of the existing scientific literature in relation to the application of cell therapy in the treatment of chronic and degenerative lesions in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. In medical literature databases: PubMed, The New England Journal of Medicine, Scopus, Elsevier's ScienceDirect, Directory of Open Access Journals. Science Direct, Mendeline, Cochranre and Scielo that support the information and allow the fulfillment of the stated objectives. Results: Considered as a new innovative treatment strategy, cell therapy takes advantage of its special characteristics of renewing and differentiating, to regenerate damaged tissues and cells of the human body. The types of cells used in cell therapy protocols, depending on the clinical purpose they are intended for. CMMs are stem cells with the ability to perform immunosuppressive functions in cells of the immune system, both innate and adaptive. Based on these clinical trials, mesenchymal stem cell therapy may be suitable for patients with RA, safely and effectively reducing joint pain and inflammation as well as improving joint function.Item “Artritis reumatoide seronegativa en paciente con complicación séptica pulmonar.”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Medicina, 2018-05-01) Rodríguez Jordán, Jessica Alexandra; Morocho Llano, Domingo Dr. Esp.Rheumatoid arthritis is a systemic, chronic disease characterized mainly by inflammation of the joints, producing pain, deformity and difficulty in movement, although it can also affect other parts of the body, presenting extra-articular manifestations. The cytokines act as soluble mediators responsible for the inflammatory process, affecting, mainly the synovial membrane of the joints, with an estimated prevalence of 0.5-1% of the world population. The onset of the disease is usually insidious, with the predominant symptoms of pain, stiffness and joint edema. The early use of medications such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), corticosteroids, disease modifying drugs and tumor necrosis factor inhibitors can significantly change the clinical course of RA, thus preventing joint damage and disability. It presents a low frequency of spontaneous healing, with an optimal treatment a good control of the disease is achieved in most cases.
