The disease generated by the outbreak of coronavirus type 2 in 2019 called COVID-19 led the world to a health crisis after the consequent appearance of a pandemic that affected all social strata. Infection by this virus caused millions of deaths from its pathophysiology, which is characterized by the presence of respiratory symptoms. However, the disease generates an inflammatory effect with subsequent elevation of cytokines, causing a cascade of situations that contribute to the development of thromboembolic events, in addition, risk factors are associated that increase the mortality rate such as obesity, diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension, age over 60 years, also having an increased probability of developing a more complex clinical picture and complications such as coagulation disorders. This article seeks to consolidate relevant and current information based on research and analysis of international and high-impact literature on the clinical picture that a patient with Covid 19 infection who develops thromboembolic complications may present.
