Item EFECTOS CLÍNICOS Y PSICOLÓGICOS POSTMANEJO INTRALESIONAL CON COLAGENASA CLOSTRIDIUM HISTOLYTICUM EN LA ENFERMEDAD DE PEYRONIE. REVISIÓN BIBLIOGRÁFICA(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Medicina, 2024-06-07) Acosta Núñez, Christopher Hilario; Reyes Rosero, Estefanía AracellyIntroduction: Peyronie's disease (PD) is an inflammatory and fibrotic disorder that affects the tunica albuginea of the penis, following a multifactorial approach. It is characterized by the formation of a plaque of fibrous tissue that produces an angular deformation in the penis that results in erectile dysfunction and psychosexual problems for the patient. In the study of its treatment, intralesional therapy was an option for a long time without conclusive results until the implementation of collagenase from clostridium histolyticum (CCH). Objective: To describe the clinical and psychological results obtained from intralesional intervention with clostridium histolyticum collagenase in the treatment of PD. Methods: Conduct a bibliographic search for updated information in the Pubmed database under terms such as Peyronie's disease, penile fibromatosis, collagenase clostridium histolyticum. Results: 15 investigations were obtained from 2018 to 2023, with a total of 2,844 patients, in all the studies improvements in penile correction were reported, in 9 studies they reported satisfactory results in IIEF-15 and PDQ, as well as the results were influenced by individual characteristics, as well as the modification of the therapeutic protocol or the addition of adjuvant therapies. Conclusions: Intralesional therapy with CCH has shown to be effective with and without the use of concomitant therapies in the correction of penile curvature and reduction of psychosexual symptoms in PD from the first therapeutic cycle as well as in atypical cases, acute stage and in patients who reported calcification.
