Item Análisis de las propiedades físico-mecánicas y CBR de suelos cohesivos de subrasante mezclados con partículas de tereftalato de polietileno (PET)(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2021-09) Ocampo Guerrero, Nancy Patricia; Castro Solorzano, Fidel AlbertoThe purpose of this experimental work is to analyze the physical-mechanical and CBR properties of natural cohesive soils and cohesive soils combined with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) particles, to be used in the formation of subgrade. For the research, 4 samples of natural soil were taken from 3 different points within the Sevilla don Bosco parish in Morona Canton, province of Morona Santiago with a total of 12 samples of cohesive soil, for which the topsoil was removed and approximately 40 kilograms of the natural sample were collected; polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles were also collected and crushed at the Proplasticmax S.A. recycling company. Field and laboratory tests were carried out with natural soil samples and soil samples combined with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) particles, determining: soil type, characteristics, physical-mechanical properties, and CBR. An increase in CBR from 8.4 percent to 11.4 percent was observed. The results obtained in the CBR test, together with the results of the vehicular analysis, were used in the design of the structure of flexible pavement and these thicknesses were compared, obtaining a reduction of 5 centimeters in the total thickness of the road structure.Item Análisis del sistema de agua potable enfocado al diseño del tanque de almacenamiento y ampliación de la red de distribución desde la comunidad El Chilco hasta el caserío San Antonio, en el cantón Tisaleo, provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2022-03) Moreta Capuz, Jonathan Stalin; Castro Solorzano, Fidel AlbertoThis project is aimed at the design of the reservoir tank and expansion of the distribution network from the El Chilco community to the San Antonio neighborhood located in the San Francisco community, with this study is intended to provide basic drinking water service in quantity and quality to the inhabitants of the sector taking into account the design parameters and the orographic characteristics of the place. Through the field visit, it was determined that the study site belongs to the rural sector; therefore, the CO 10.7 - 602 - Revision NORM was used, which is focused on the design of drinking water supply for the rural area. The study used data provided by the GADM of Tisaleo, Development and Land Use Plan of Tisaleo canton 2014 - 2019, statistical data from INEC and various bibliographic sources. A topographic survey was carried out with the TRIMBLE M3 station of the municipal entity, in order to develop the hydraulic project in Civil 3D, SAP 2000 and EPANET, taking into account the design bases of the code. This research work includes topographic plans and design of the distribution network, as well as items used in the construction of the drinking water supply system. Finally, the expansion of the distribution system is intended to supply quality drinking water to tisaleñas families in an efficient and responsible manner, complying with all the regulations and parameters in force.Item Caracterización de la curva de consumo diario de la red de agua potable de la zona urbana cantón Pelileo, provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. The research is pertinent in the current context, where efficient water management is crucial for sustainable development. The methodology was structured into three phases. First, an exploratory investigation analyzed potable water consumption habits, collecting daily data over 45 days in specific locations in collaboration with the Potable Water Boards of Pelileo Canton. The second phase involved georeferencing the study area using different specific software, and the third phase determined per capita demand and generated daily consumption curves, considering economic variables. The study is framed within an exploratory, analytical, and descriptive research line, offering scientific novelty by providing a precise and updated database on potable water consumption patterns in the region. This information is essential for optimizing distribution network efficiency and for planning future projects, ensuring an adequate and continuous water supply to residents. As a result, the study presents an innovative approach by digitizing and georeferencing consumption information, which facilitates the management and decision-making in water resource administration in the urban area of Pelileo Canton.Item Caracterización de la curva de consumo diario de la red de agua potable de la zona urbana del cantón Cevallos, provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2024-02) Tibanlombo Quisintuña, John Jenrry; Castro Solorzano, Fidel AlbertoThe present research work studies the drinking water consumption habits of the main urban and rural hamlets of the Cevallos canton, with the aim of obtaining the characteristic daily and hourly consumption curves of the area, per capita consumption, and pressures that allow serve as a basis for future hydraulic projects that must be referenced from real data. The development of the work began with the collection of information regarding the number of users that exist throughout the canton, defining a total of 3702 users, of which a sample of 139 who were surveyed was chosen. The analysis of the results of the surveys determined the daily consumption value representative of the sector under study, recorded for forty-five days. Then, drinking water pressure was taken at all the defined properties, and hourly consumption was obtained through the installation of cameras on seven meters in the sector. Finally, they processed the data obtained in the field and projected future consumption characteristic for the area, establishing referenced graphs. The results obtained are: daily consumption of the sector 0.36 𝑚3/day, average pressures 33.75 m.c.a, general average per capita consumption of 129.86 (L/inhab/day), per capita consumption by typology: I 180.44 (L/inhab/day ), II 137.62 (L/inhabitant/day), III 125.75 (L/inhabitant/day), and IV 168 (L/inhabitant/day), and future consumption projections for two years equal to 160.75 (L/inhabitant/day ), five years 194.41 L/day, ten years 214.72 L/day, twenty years 233.17 and finally for thirty years 243.44 L/day.Item Comportamiento a flexión del hormigón tradicional frente a un hormigón en base a PET reciclado y fibras de bagazo de caña de azúcar(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2021-09) Villacrés Yépez, Jhojaan Alexander; Castro Solorzano, Fidel AlbertoIn this experimental work the reuse of materials as they are proposed; recycled PET plastic and cane bagasse fibers, which replace a percentage of the total weight corresponding to coarse aggregate, in the dosage and elaboration of traditional concrete beams. The technical, economic and environmental behavior of the proposal was analyzed through controlled bending laboratory tests and its cost comparison of these alternative materials compared to traditional ones in the local market. Technically, it was found that the traditional concrete specimens reinforced with 5 and 7 percent recycled PET plastic have mechanical properties according to the NTE-INEN standard for non-structural elements. The cane bagasse fibers did not meet the standards, with a maximum of 1.5 percent fiber addition being the best result. The economic analysis showed that concrete with PET reinforcements is competitive with traditional concrete.Item Determinación de las condiciones técnicas del sistema de abastecimiento de agua potable y manual de operación y mantenimiento para la junta administradora de agua potable Andignato (J.A.A.P.A) del caserío Andignato del cantón Cevallos provincia de Tungurahua.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2024-08) Zamora Llerena, Luis Alberto; Castro Solorzano, Fidel AlbertoThe purpose of this study is to improve the basic drinking water service, providing the sector with preliminary technical studies, since its useful life is over and it is necessary to upgrade the network in question, taking into account the design parameters and the topographic and hydrographic characteristics of the site. The study site belongs to the rural sector, so the CO 10.7 - 602 - Revision NORM was used, focused on the design of drinking water supply for the rural area, data provided by the J.A.A.P.S.A of the Board that manages the network, from continuous visits to the study site and the Development and Land Management Plan of the canton Cevallos 2020 - 2022, statistical data from INEC and various bibliographic sources were used. A topographic survey was carried out with the TRIMBLE M3 station of the municipal entity, later the information was compared with the RTK system for ease of data manipulation and to make it more dynamic, substituting the latter by developing effectively, the hydraulic project was carried out in specific softwars taking into account the design bases of the code; it has topographic plans and design of the network in the first stage, with items that are used in the construction of the system. Finally, with a new projection of the current design for the Drinking Water Supply network, we have sought to provide the vital liquid in a better way and to obtain a good quality of water that solves the users, contributing to improve the quality of life of the sectors.Item Diseño de un sistema de alcantarillado sanitario y la planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales para la comunidad Putuimi, parroquia Tarqui, cantón Pastaza, provincia Pastaza(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. The proposed sanitary projects for this locality are the implementation of a sanitary sewer system and its respective wastewater treatment plant. The proposed design is of great importance for the residents, who have expressed through a survey the health problems, the need and clamor for a prompt solution to the use and disposal of the waters that are already used. The mechanisms to carry out the present study were through a survey that allowed me to know the needs of the inhabitants. The topographic survey was carried out and with the data obtained the calculations were carried out, which determined the correct design of the project and the plans, using the norms of sewerage networks such as: the INEN Norm and the Design Norm for water supply systems drinking, disposal of excreta and liquid waste in rural areas. The referential budget was prepared, which has a value without VAT, so it must be considered at the time of its execution.Item Diseño del sistema de alcantarillado pluvial y sanitario para los sectores de El Porvenir y Las Lajas de Pinguilí, pertenecientes al cantón Mocha, de la provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. According to the Ministry of Public Health, in 2021 more than 100,000 cases of acute diarrheal diseases were recorded, of which 80 percent are associated with lack of access to drinking water and adequate sanitation. For this, the design parameters were estimated, including a topographic survey, surveys, and the determination of the sanitary flow through the population's water consumption, respecting the standards and using the formulas of the Bolivian Standard NB 688. The stormwater flow through runoff and the maximum rainfall intensity of the project area. As a result, the designed sewer network consists of 98 wells, of which 6 have a maximum depth of 4 meters and 16 wells with a jump. In addition, a total of 96 pipes with a diameter of 250 millimeters are calculated, covering a total length of 5,956 meters. Finally, an economic study was carried out in which items were identified, and the technical specifications, APUs, and budget were prepared, obtaining a total construction cost of 492,274.23 dollars in an estimated time of 6 months (24 weeks). Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2025-02) Freire Zurita, Wellington Alexis; Castro Solorzano, Fidel AlbertoAccess to sanitary sewage systems is of vital importance to ensure optimal sanitation conditions and prevent negative impacts on both human health and the environment. In this context, the hamlet of Pingue faces limitations such as the absence of basic sanitation infrastructure, which directly affects the quality of life of its inhabitants. This project was developed in several essential phases, each one focused on fundamental technical aspects. In the initial phase, a topographic survey was carried out, and surveys were conducted to obtain information on the conditions of the community, as well as the needs of the population. Based on this data, we proceeded with the preliminary design of the sewerage network and treatment plant, applying the corresponding regulations, such as Bolivian Standard NB 688, CO 10.7 - 601 and CO 10.7 - 602 and Senagua guidelines. In the next phase, an economic evaluation was carried out, including the calculation of unit costs and the analysis of the financial viability of implementing the project. As a result of this project, a detailed design was prepared for the sanitary sewerage system, which includes 88 wells and 87 pipes, with a total length of 2,353 km. In addition, an existing network was analyzed, which consists of 57 wells and a length of the existing network of 1,299 km. Finally, technical calculations were developed for the wastewater treatment plant, where the processes were analyzed, including pretreatment, primary and secondary treatment. Ensuring that the total flow complies with the parameters required for proper operation. An economic study of the project was also carried out, with a budget of $345,842.12 and its respective specifications to guarantee the improvement of sanitary conditions.Item Estudio y diseño de la red de agua potable para el mejoramiento de la calidad de vida de los habitantes de las fumarolas parroquia Calpi del Cantón Riobamba de la provincia de Chimborazo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. To obtain the physical chemical and microbiological characteristics of the water, has been made the caption of water from the slope, as a result the vital liquid is suitable for consumption, which will be disinfected with chorine to eliminate the microorganisms present. For the design, a topographic study was carried out in order to define the conditions of the land, as well the location, lengths and area of the project. The design period, population forecasting and the population density calculations were made with the help of data provided by National Institute of Statistics and Censuses. The objective of the project is to provide sanitary sewage and storm sewage services, since they allow for the proper evacuation of water and therefore maintain a healthy population, a fundamental basis for the development of the inhabitants. The topographic survey determined that most of the area to be evaluated has a flat surface, taking into account technical, financial and social aspects, which allowed us to select the appropriate systems for the project, thus establishing a design of sanitary and storm sewers by gravity along the entire route for wastewater discharges to the existing treatment plant and for stormwater directly to the natural course of the river. Effluents will be conveyed by means of PVC piping, complementary works such as inspection wells and domestic boxes, among others. In addition, the respective hydraulic designs were prepared to obtain an optimum design, reference budget, plans, and technical specifications, taking into account INEN, EXIEOS, and current specifications.Item Evaluación de la planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales de la comunidad Chinintahua parroquia de San Andrés, cantón Santiago de Píllaro, provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. First, a topographical survey was carried out, in which all the hydraulic units were dimensioned; The measurement of the inlet and outlet flows of the WWTP was carried out by means of the volumetric method. Subsequent to this, composite samples were taken in the influent and effluent of the WWTP and a characterization analysis was carried out; then, the results were compared with the current regulations (TULSMA 2015), and the levels of pH, COD, BOD5, ST, SST, TDS that are below the limits allowed for the discharge of wastewater in bodies of water were obtained. sweet. A visual diagnosis was made to each hydraulic unit to detect failures that affect the treatment of wastewater. Finally, an operation and maintenance manual was implemented to comply with the correct operation of the WWTP, which included a metal cover for the sludge drying bed, and thus, increase the dewatering of residual sludge. Cleaning and maintenance measures were also incorporated for each hydraulic unit in the WWTP.Item Evaluación de la planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales de la comunidad de Puñachizag, cantón Quero, provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2021-09) Criollo Espín, Ricardo Alexander; Castro Solorzano, Fidel AlbertoThe main objective of this research is to determine if the plant is operating optimally. The evaluation of the community WWTP began with the gathering of information, a field investigation which was used to take dimensions, inflow flows to determine the design flow to be used. Wastewater samples were also taken, which were analyzed by an accredited laboratory and whose results were compared with the limit parameters established by the TULSMA 2015 regulation for wastewater discharges into freshwater bodies, where it was found that the parameter oils and fats does not comply with the standards, which showed that the WWTP is not working properly. Finally, a diagnosis was made of each of the current treatment processes, where it was found that some of its structures, such as the septic tank, do not meet the criteria and recommendations established in the design manuals. For the reasons mentioned before, it is proposed to incorporate a new treatment process (fat trap) to treat the high value of that parameter. Also, to carry out a structure redesigns that now, currently do not comply with the standards, and finally to incorporate an operation and maintenance plan to ensure the correct operation of the WWTP through the time.Item Evaluación de la planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales de la parroquia totoras, cantón Ambato, provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2022-03) Pico Freire, Doris Karina; Castro Solorzano, Fidel AlbertoIn the present experimental work, the evolution of the wastewater treatment plant of the Totoras parish belonging to the Ambato Canton was carried out, with the purpose of determining the current state of both its structure and the quality of treated water that it discharges into the Pachanlica River. The evaluation of the PTAR began with an analysis of the population in which it intervenes, the socio-economic activities of the parish and the year in which it was created. The hours in which there was greater and lower flow of both input and output of the PTAR were determined, the data obtained were tabulated through the use of Excel software in which the information was represented in the form of graphs, in addition it was possible to determine the physico-chemical properties presented by the water of both the tributary and the effluent through tests in a specialized laboratory in order to determine the composition of the water residual. The physical units were evaluated (Grids, Sandblaster, RAFA, FAFA and sludge drying bed) which presented fissures, cracks, concrete detachment and landslide that endangered the tank of arrival of the wastewater, on the other hand, two of its units that are of vital importance such as the grids and the sludge drying bed did not meet the parameters established in the design manuals of the treatment plants. Finally, with the evaluation carried out, an operational improvement plan was developed for the PTAR.Item Mejoramiento de la conducción y almacenamiento del sistema de agua potable del barrio El Mirador para mejorar la calidad sanitaria del cantón Cevallos, provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2021-09) Nuñez Pungaña, Klever Roberto; Castro Solorzano, Fidel AlbertoIn this technical project the improvement of the conduction and storage of the drinking water system of the El Mirador neighborhood is presented to improve the sanitary quality of the Cevallos canton, Tungurahua province. This project was carried out taking as a starting point the application of bibliographic and field research, through which it was possible to know in detail the characteristics of the sector, information that was obtained from different sources, among which we can find: Plan of Territorial Planning of the Cevallos canton, National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INEC) and books from the DB Virtual Libraries of the Technical University of Ambato. In order to improve the conduction, as well as the storage, the design standard for drinking water supply systems, excreta disposal and liquid waste in rural areas is considered. Through which it was possible to determine the period, the population, the endowment and the design flows. Thus, the different recommendations and parameters presented by this standard were also considered. The project also presents the analysis of unit prices, technical specifications, plans, budget and valued work schedule for its construction, additionally, the environmental impact assessment that the execution of the project will produce is presented. Finally, based on the characteristics and requirements of the sector, the implementation of a conduction line and exclusive storage tank for this neighborhood is proposed as a solution, a project that will benefit a total of 635 people, in a period of 25 years.Item Mejoramiento del sistema de agua potable en la comunidad Jaloa el Rosario de la parroquia La Matriz del cantón Quero, provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2025-02) Pallo Vinueza, Gerson Asdrubal; Castro Solorzano, Fidel AlbertoThe supply of drinking water is of vital importance to all inhabitants worldwide, so the supply must be efficient and adequate, but currently the existing distribution system in the Jaloa el Rosario community does not provide the adequate service that users need, since the distribution system has fulfilled its useful life, therefore, the proposal to improve the drinking water system was made. It began with the delimitation of the study area that was facilitated by the president of the Jaloa el Rosario community, to later carry out a topographic survey with a drone, a survey was also carried out where the population registry was updated, through the survey carried out the quality of the service was also known and to know if the pressure of the water with which it reaches their homes is adequate, on the other hand, through field visits each of the components of the existing drinking water system was evaluated, through the evaluation it was determined that the system has many deficiencies since visible leaks could be seen in the pipes. Through the use of a pressure gauge, a hydraulic evaluation was carried out, where the existing pressures were measured. Finally, a proposal for improvement of the SDAP was developed, so that community users have a safe and efficient service, where the design period is 25 years, with a future population of 735 inhabitants. On the other hand, the design proposal was also modeled through an engineering program, modeling the system in a static and dynamic state. After the design proposal was made, a reference budget was developed for an amount of $135,167.90 US dollars, with its respective schedule where it is presented that for the construction of the design proposal it will be developed in a time of 5 months.
