The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between family functioning and academic performance among students in the Unified General High School program at the “Alicia Marcuard de Yerovi” Educational Unit. A mixed methods approach was employed, which included a correlational study and a non experimental cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 91 students. Data were collected using the Family Functioning Test (FF-SIL) and the Academic Performance Self-Perception Questionnaire. A normality test was conducted beforehand, which determined that the data did not follow a normal distribution; therefore, Spearman’s correlation coefficient (Rho) was used. The results of this research lie in the contextualized analysis of these variables within the student population, providing evidence that supports the importance of the family environment in the educational sphere. Hypothesis testing was conducted using Spearman's rank correlation coefficient, which accepted the alternative hypothesis and rejected the null hypothesis, demonstrating the existence of a significant relationship between the variables studied. This allows us to affirm that family dynamics directly influence the academic and emotional development of students, especially in aspects related to adaptability, communication, and family support
