Abstract
This paper develops a proposal for the architectural design of recreational
spaces within the agritourism farm La Envidia, located on Santa Cruz Island,
Galapagos. The study is based on the need to integrate the efficient management of
resources and education in local agritourism, framed in the principles of biomimetics
as a design approach. The overall objective is to propose an architectural solution
inspired by existing species in Galapagos that promotes interaction between tourists
and the natural environment and respects the ecological uniqueness of the archipelago.
The applied methodology is structured under a qualitative and projective approach,
which articulates the analysis of theoretical references, the diagnosis of the territorial
context, and the development of a design model based on morphological and process
biomimicry strategies. A documentary review, morphological analysis of native
species such as Opuntia eichos Howell, Scalesia and Bromelia pinguin L., and a
functional study of their adaptive principles are carried out. These elements are related
to the needs of the project, identifying opportunities for ecosystemic and sustainable
solutions. The proposal contemplates a set of recreational spaces linked to the touristic
tour of the farm, integrating rest areas, viewpoints, interpretive trails and educational

El presente trabajo desarrolla una propuesta de diseño arquitectónico de
espacios recreativos dentro de la finca agroturística La Envidia, ubicada en la Isla
Santa Cruz, Galápagos. El estudio parte de la necesidad de integrar el manejo eficiente
de recursos y educativas en el agroturismo local, enmarcadas en los principios de la
biomimética como enfoque proyectual. El objetivo general consiste en plantear una
solución arquitectónica inspirada en especies existentes en Galápagos, que fomente la
interacción entre el turista y el entorno natural, y que respete la singularidad ecológica
del archipiélago. La metodología aplicada se estructura bajo un enfoque cualitativo y
proyectual, que articula el análisis de referentes teóricos, el diagnóstico del contexto
territorial, y el desarrollo de un modelo de diseño basado en estrategias de biomímesis
morfológica y de procesos. Se realiza una revisión documental, análisis morfológico
de especies nativas como Opuntia eichos Howell, Scalesia y Bromelia pinguin L., y
un estudio funcional de sus principios adaptativos. Estos elementos se relacionan con
las necesidades del proyecto, identificando oportunidades para soluciones
ecosistémicas y sostenibles. La propuesta contempla un conjunto de espacios
recreativos vinculados con el recorrido turístico de la finca, integrando zonas de
descanso, miradores, senderos interpretativos y módulos educativos. Cada
componente responde a una lógica de diseño bioinspirado, en donde la forma, el
proceso y el sistema se articulan para generar soluciones funcionales, respetuosas con
el entorno insular. Se integran criterios de accesibilidad, participación comunitaria y
manejo eficiente del recurso hídrico.
