Infertilidad masculina y sus principales causas

Abstract

Introduction: Infertility is a health problem with an increasing incidence. Regardless of the underlying cause, the cases of men with infertility are approximately 70,000 cases compared to the cases of infertile women with 22,000 cases. Objectives: Identify the incidence of male infertility, as well as the main causes linked to this disorder. Methodology: Systematized work of an analytical type developed through the search, collection and analysis of existing information in databases related to medicine such as: Pubmed, Scopus, Chocrane, DynaMed, Scielo, Springer, New England Journal of Medicine, Elsevier. Scientific articles from the last 3 years were selected. The types of articles included in the review were: clinical trials, meta-analyses, multicenter studies, systematized studies, and bibliographic reviews related to infertility in males, its causes, and its diagnosis. Conclusions: Infertility is a multifactorial disorder, among the most common causes are genetics and genitourinary alterations or malformations. Some of these can be treated, however, this does not mean that all cases are reversible and can lead to conception.
