La motivación y el estrés académico

Abstract

The main objective of this research is to analyze the influence of motivation and academic stress of students of the Tourism Career at the Technical University of Ambato (UTA). Chapter I, corresponding to the theoretical framework, details the research background and the theoretical foundation of each of the study variables. Chapter II, dedicated to methodology, describes the use of a mixed approach that addresses the variables both qualitatively and quantitatively; In addition, the exploratory, descriptive and correlational levels are detailed. This chapter also points out that, after applying the inclusion and exclusion criteria, the final sample was made up of 90 students of the program, whose ages ranged between 18 and 25 years, with both male and female students being part of the project. The evaluation instruments were the Academic Motivation Scale (EMA) and the Systemic Cognitive Inventory for the Study of Academic Stress (SISCO SV-21). Chapter III presents the analysis and discussion of the data obtained through the application of these instruments. Using the Chi-square statistic, it is calculated that the tabular Chi-square value was greater than the calculated Chi-square. Therefore, the existence of a significant evaluation between motivation and academic stress is confirmed. Finally, in chapter IV conclusions and recommendations are presented with the aim of providing the reader with a better understanding of the variables.
