Abstract

Description

This study analyzes the relationship between content marketing and the positioning of traditional cuisine in Tungurahua, in light of the loss of visibility of local cuisine due to the globalization of the food sector and the limited use of digital tools by traditional companies. The study seeks to understand how content strategies (informative, emotional, educational, and visual) can strengthen cultural identity and improve consumer perception. It is based on the theories of Kotler (perceived value), Pulizzi (relevant content), and Sanagustín (cultural marketing), which emphasize the importance of content for brand building and symbolic differentiation. The hypothesis is that the application of content marketing strategies has a significant impact on the digital and cultural positioning of local cuisine. The approach is quantitative, with a non-experimental design and deductive reasoning. The unit of analysis corresponds to consumers over the age of 18 who consume traditional cuisine at least once a month. A structured digital survey with Likert scales was conducted and distributed virtually using stratified probability sampling. The results show a positive correlation between culturally relevant content and the valuation of gastronomy as identity heritage. Among the preferred formats are images, videos, recipes, and cultural narratives. The clarity of the message, the narrative, and the role of influencers are also valued. It is concluded that content marketing is essential to improve the visibility and positioning of traditional cuisine. It is recommended to professionalize digital strategies and train the sector in the production of content and cultural narratives.
