Abstract
El presente estudio analiza la fiesta del Carnaval de Guaranda y la influencia que ha tenido en el
fortalecimiento de la identidad cultural de los habitantes y visitantes de la ciudad mencionada, el
objetivo de la investigación fue analizar esta festividad, sus actores, elementos, rituales,
tradiciones y costumbres.Además, como estos factores han impactado positiva o negativamente
a la identidad cultural de quienes han formado parte del Carnaval, mediante una caracterización
de esta fiesta, a través de una revisión bibliográfica, en la cual se identificó los componentes de
la identidad cultural guarandeña mediante la aplicación de una entrevista donde se recogió
información a personas que han formado parte de la organización y ejecución de eventos del
Carnaval. La metodología utilizada fue de campo, con un enfoque cualitativo, en el plan de
recolección de información también se usó fichas INPC que ayudaron a determinar actos y
rituales que son patrimonio cultural intangible de Guaranda, este proceso permitió visualizar
varios efectos negativos en el desarrollo de actividades del Carnaval que no fomentan la
identidad cultural. Tomando en cuenta estos factores se desarrolló un plan de difusión de eventos
culturales de la Fiesta de Carnaval, que aportará actividades culturales que fortalezcan la
identidad cultural de los habitantes y turistas que visitan la ciudad.
Description
The present study analyzes the Guaranda Carnival festival and the influence it has had
on strengthening the cultural identity of the inhabitants and visitors of the
aforementioned city, the objective of the research was to analyze this festivity, its
actors, elements, rituals, traditions and customs, in addition, how these factors have
positively or negatively impacted the cultural identity of those who have been part of
the Carnival, through a characterization of this festival, through a bibliographic review,
in which the components of identity were identified. Guarandeña culture through the
application of an interview where information was collected from people who have
been part of the organization and execution of Carnival events. The methodology used
was field, with a qualitative approach, in the information collection plan INPC files
were also used that helped to determine acts and rituals that are intangible cultural
heritage of Guaranda, this process allowed to visualize several negative effects in the
development of Carnival activities that do not promote cultural identity. Taking these
factors into account, a plan was developed to disseminate cultural events for the
Carnival Festival, which will provide cultural activities that strengthen the cultural
identity of the inhabitants and tourists who visit the city.
