Abstract
Esta investigación se centra en la experimentación con pigmentos frutales
provenientes de la zona tres de la región Sierra del Ecuador, explorando su
aplicación en técnicas de ilustración de moda sostenible. Este proyecto surge con el
propósito de promover el uso de materiales naturales y sostenibles, resaltando las
propiedades de los pigmentos naturales como una alternativa innovadora dentro del
ámbito del diseño. A través de un proceso sistemático, se demostró la viabilidad de
estos pigmentos, su potencial estético y artístico dentro del campo de la ilustración
de moda. El presente proyecto se desarrolló en tres etapas fundamentales. Se realizó
un estudio detallado de tres documentos especializados en tintes naturales. Este
análisis permitió comprender las características químicas y estéticas de los
pigmentos de origen natural, así como también sus aplicaciones tradicionales,
estableciendo las bases teóricas sobre este tema. Dentro de la segunda etapa, se
llevó a cabo la extracción y preparación de los pigmentos a partir de frutas
seleccionadas de la zona tres de la región Sierra, la cual comprende las provincias
de Tungurahua, Cotopaxi y Chimborazo. Mediante la etapa experimental, se evaluó
el comportamiento de cada pigmento sometido a modificadores de color como
vinagre y bicarbonato, la reacción sobre soportes de papel y se registró los
resultados como la intensidad, durabilidad y versatilidad de cada pigmento.
Finalmente, se diseñó un catálogo que reúne de forma visual y organizada los
resultados obtenidos, mostrando los pigmentos frutales integrados en técnicas de
ilustración de moda. Este catálogo busca servir como una herramienta práctica para
ilustradores, artistas y diseñadores de moda interesados en explorar alternativas
sostenibles en sus trabajos creativos.
Description
This research focuses on experimentation with fruit pigments from zone three of
the Sierra region of Ecuador, exploring their application in sustainable fashion
illustration techniques. This project arises with the purpose of promoting the use of
natural and sustainable materials, highlighting the properties of natural pigments as
an innovative alternative within the field of design. Through a systematic process,
the viability of these pigments and their aesthetic and artistic potential within the
field of fashion illustration was demonstrated. The present project was developed
in three fundamental stages. A detailed study of three documents specialized in
natural dyes was carried out. This analysis allowed us to understand the chemical
and aesthetic characteristics of pigments of natural origin, as well as their traditional
applications, establishing the theoretical bases on this subject. In the second stage,
the extraction and preparation of pigments was carried out using selected fruits from
zone three of the Sierra region, which includes the provinces of Tungurahua,
Cotopaxi and Chimborazo. By means of an experimentation sheet, the behavior of
each pigment was evaluated when subjected to colour modifiers such as vinegar
and bicarbonate, the reaction on paper supports and the results were recorded, such
as the intensity, durability and versatility of each pigment. Finally, a catalogue was
designed that brings together in a visual and organised way the results obtained,
showing the fruit pigments integrated in fashion illustration techniques. This
catalogue aims to serve as a practical tool for illustrators, artists and fashion
designers interested in exploring sustainable alternatives in their creative work.
