dc.descriptionA escala mundial la lechuga (Lactuca sativa) es una de las hortalizas más populares en la alimentación diaria, por sus amplios benéficos en la salud, sin embargo, factores tales como la falta de inversiones para mejorar los métodos de cultivo han provocado desestimulo en la producción. Por ello, entre las estrategias a ser evaluadas están los estudios sobre producción de semillas que permitan mejorar la producción y la productividad del cultivo. En el presente estudio se evaluó el efecto de diferentes sustratos (humus de lombriz, gallinaza y cascarilla de arroz) en la germinación de semillas de lechuga crespa variedad semi-verde que fueron comparados con un tratamiento testigo (tierra), en cada tratamiento se evaluó el porcentaje y velocidad de germinación durante 6 días, además se evaluó la longitud de las raíces, peso fresco, peso seco y la materia seca a los 15 y 25 días después de la emergencia de las plántulas. De acuerdo con los resultados obtenidos tanto el porcentaje de germinación como la longitud de las raíces fueron afectados por el tipo de sustrato siendo en todos los tipos de sustratos superior al testigo. Adicionalmente, la longitud de las raíces y la materia seca de las plántulas de lechuga, fueron significativamente superiores en plántulas obtenidas de los tres tipos de sustratos. Además, se realizó el análisis económico de cada uno de los tratamientos en el cual se calculó el total de ingresos, beneficio neto por tratamiento y la relación beneficio-costo, donde el T2 obtuvo los menores costos con $13,82 y alcanzaron la mayor relación beneficio-costo de 0,44. En base a los resultados obtenidos, requiere utilizar estudios de campo que permitan validar la presente investigación.es_ES
dc.description.abstractOn a global scale, lettuce (Lactuca sativa) is one of the most popular vegetables in the daily diet, due to its wide-ranging health benefits. However, factors such as the lack of investment to improve cultivation methods have discouraged production. Therefore, among the strategies to be evaluated are studies on seed production that allow improving crop production and productivity. In the present study, the effect of different substrates (worm humus, chicken manure and rice husk) on the germination of semigreen curly lettuce seeds was evaluated. These were compared with a control treatment (soil). In each treatment, the percentage and speed of germination were evaluated for 6 days. In addition, the length of the roots, fresh weight, dry weight and dry matter were evaluated at 15 and 25 days after the emergence of the seedlings. According to the results obtained, both the germination percentage and the root length were affected by the type of substrate, being higher than the control in all types of substrates. Additionally, the root length and dry matter of lettuce seedlings were significantly higher in seedlings obtained from the three types of substrates. In addition, an economic analysis of each of the treatments was carried out, in which the total income, net benefit per treatment and the benefit-cost ratio were calculated, where T2 obtained the lowest costs with $13.82 and reached the highest benefit-cost ratio of 0.44.
